Hey guys, I just got a stock 2014 Tacoma double cab base model and it comes with the disgusting stock 15" wheels and I was wondering what the biggest size I could get without rubbing is. I'm not super educated on any of this stuff and I only understand the basics, so I could really use the help. Thanks!

I don't know about biggest but changing to a 16" wheel with a 235/70R16 tire looks much better.
Toyota RAV4, Highlander, Sienna and some Camry wheels are the right bolt pattern and size center hole.
Search the forum or Google for pics.

In my opinion I think a 17" is about an ideal size wheel for a Tacoma. I have's 18's and they look a bit big, the 16's look a bit undersized.

Right now I'm thinking a 245/70/r17 off-road tire and I think it should look nice, what do u guys think? Also are you sure it would fit the stock suspension on a base model?

Wheel diameter doesn't mean anything. You can get the same overall tire height and width using 15", 16", 17" 18" or 20" wheels by picking the appropriate tire size. Back in the 1970s we ran 36"-38" tires on 15" rims. The trend towards larger wheels is to accommodate larger brakes.

The 5 lug trucks come with 15" wheels, sit lower and you may not be able to go to a 30.5" tire without lifting the truck. Sorry, I don't know much about those trucks, but they come with 215/70/15's. That's a 27" tire, 3.5" shorter than what you're looking at. The 6 lug Tacoma's sit a little higher and you can go with a 31.5" tire with no modifications.

The 245/70/17's are exactly the same overall size as the factory 245/75/16's that come on the 6 lug trucks (30.5"). A 265/75/15 would be the same height and about 1/2" wider, you could use the 15" wheels and save some money. If they will fit your truck.

17" is required to clear 4runner calipers.

Supposedly 17x9 is better than 17x8.5

Yeah I just did some measurements and all should be good except for maybe some sharp turns there will be some rubbing which I think could be fixed with the NorCal mod.
