Hey everyone just wanted to see what your guys opinions between the two wheels im debating on getting for my 3rd gen cement taco! Either way i go i’ll be going with a 285/70 for the tires with my 2/1 lift ! The two options are Method 305’s NV in black or SSW Dakars in machined silver.

Method and powder coat the bolts the color of the truck for a little added touch.

Do you off road a lot?
I yes I'd go with Method.
If no or only occasionally I would go SSW.
But I'm an old guy who grew up with '60's and '70's muscle so I like shiny wheels.

I’d lean towards the Method, but I tend to like that style of wheel on our trucks. Have you checked out the SCS Ray 10’s? I’m partial, but they’re still my favorites.

I don't believe in the Illuminati, The Lizard People, that the CIA was competent enough to Whack JFK and RFK.

    But I do believe this...
Toyota is in an unholy alliance with wheel manufacturers to put the dorkiest OEM wheels on their trucks just so Method and others can make a mint selling wheels.

Oh and I like your top selection - I'm just not a chrome guy, but you may be and that's OK too.

Personally I think the fake beadlock look is silly. Bling where there doesn't need to be bling. I'm running Modco wheels. Strong, simple, and classic looking.
    I also don't like silver.

So between your choices, I'd say none lol. If I had to pick one of the two, I'd go with the methods even though the fakelocks are dumb

I like that machined finish wheels are making a comeback. Kinda tired of looking at black and bronze wheels on everything. The method 703s or 321s in a machined finish would be my choice if was in the market

The best advice I will add to this is check the weight of the wheel before buying some of the methods are obnoxiously heavy and over built for 99% of our use. I dropped from a 32lb wheel to a 23lb and hop damn did I notice it. Keep offset in mind unless your ready to start chopping up that cab mount. I havnt looked at ssw since I bought my Apex's but I thought they were only available in a -25 in our bolt pattern, this may no longer be the case but definitely somthing to consider. 0 is the sweet spot upto -10 has been done but in my experience it would not of cleared with a 285.

so the Sww i want are either going to be in a 0mm or -12mm offset, but im not sure with ones i want todo because im trying to not have todo a CMC or BMC. I think i may end up doing the ssw’s tbh because i barely offroad and i don’t want the extra weight of the methods if i don’t need it.

Solid advice. I believe my 16” SCS Ray 10’s are 22 lbs. Another reason why I like them so much. I can also testify that after 5 central PA winters, they still look new. Overall, just a great wheel.

Scs makes some beuty wheels but I can't stomach the price of wheels half the time I scored my 2 sets for damn near 50% off only reason I finally jumped on them.

0 is your best bet for no cmc. The lower the offset the lower the scrub radius the more clearance you have.
Honestly there's not much to worry about with off roading unless your actually going hard at speed. Iv beat on my ssw's pretty good with no issues. There's days I think about extending the wheel studs and the thread engagement is a little short but 1 summer and 2 winters with them i have had no issues.
That abuse includes hitting a massive hole that was covered in some deep grass that was enough to kill a wheel bearing and bend a tie rod. But the wheel was a ok

Not to be a plug by any means, but you could always go with some @SCSPerformance wheels, honestly they look better in my opinion than the played out 305's. Plus I think they are lighter.

I know looks all completely options but I don't like a 285 70 on a nine inch wide wheel. It's looks a little stretched to me. I also don't trust the wheel weights on on the ssw site. I'd call and confirm the weight. Speaking of weight you could also looking into the FN wheels. They have light wheels at good prices and are hub centric where as a lot of aftermarket wheels are lug centric. People have complained vibration issues from lug centric wheels. Just food for thought.

Method doesn’t disappoint.. no need to color match bolts, they sell various colors in the bolts for the wheels

I'm with Veet-88 - I would keep an eye on wheel weights. Many of the mainstream wheel brands only produce heavy (30-35+ pound) wheels.

I would prioritize a flow form (aka "rotary forged") wheel for the strength and weight savings, without the larger price tag of a true forged wheel.

Check out ModCo, SCS, RRW, FN Wheels... even Fuel and Konig now have flow-formed wheel options for our trucks. My SSW Dakar wheels aren't flow-formed, but at 23.5 lbs, they're just as light weight as many flow-formed wheel designs.

Personally, I like the cleaner lip designs without the simulated bead-locks/bolts. I like several of Method's designs, but everyone runs them and most of their wheels are 30+ pounds - no offense to those posting their method wheels.
