    Hey Taco Team!

I just checked under the hood of my new Tacoma for the first time. I have 1k on the truck and saw a sticker that says oil weigh should be 0-w20

    .....

    That seem wrong....

I live in Bay area CA temps are never higher then 108 i do go to the snow a few times a year. what should I be using?

    Exactly!

What I don't like is the first oil change isn't until 16k. When I reach 1-2k, I will do an oil change to get the break-in metal shavings out of there.

I know everyone has a different opinion on this, but that is mine!

First oil change is 10k for ideal driving conditions, YMMV

Okay hold up my bad!!!! I am only used to turbo and supercharged vehicles this is my first NA. I know sometime manufactures skimp on the oil to meet emissions and MPG. So if thats not the case I apologize :bananadead:

Whether it's M1 or not....it's synthetic. Any of the OTC 0/20 oils are very good

They now use 0W20 a lower weight than 5W30 to meet CAFE mpg.

Although, it would be good to see an oil analysis and the TBN of 0W20 at 10k oci. I’ve searched on Bob Is The Oil Guy, doesn’t seem like a lot on their yet.
