Conventional - Synthetic Blend - Full Synthetic?
    What Velocity - 0w20 - 0w30 - 5w30 - 10w30 - 10w40 - 20w50.

Here in the Southeast Region The V6 comes with conventional - 5w30 & 4cyl comes with 0x20 synthetic oil. I'm curious to see how many owners across the globe switch to the synthetic oil with the V6.

The 2.7 owners manual and oil fill cap call for 0-20w full syn. That's what I use.

Some speculate its Mobil 1, but know one knows for sure. Probably the cheapest oil they can get there hands on.

I like my Pennzoil. Literally the ONLY brand of oil I've ever bought in 43 years of driving. I'm using 5/30 conventional.

if they are a legit Toyota authorized dealer, they HAVE TO use what Toyota specifies, and 0w20 Mobil 1 is what the 4cyl cars and trucks use now. and 5w30 in the larger engines. Its an EPA and Emissions thing, they (Toyota) have to spec XXX for emissions purposes to achieve the EPA rating.

working for Toyota Industrial, we have to do the same thing, all the new lift trucks are spec'd for 10w30 Mobil DX 1300, where we were using 15w40 Mobil XD before. LP, gas or Diesel.

being a Toyota Industrial dealer, we have to do what they say for warranty purposes. have to use the Toyota Red coolant, and Mobil spec lubes in everything. and yes, they ( Toyota Corperate ) does check, even our service vans, I have to have a minimum stock of Toyota filters and specified lubricants.

I run Mobil 1 full syn 0w-30 in my v6.... No point to run 5w-30 full syn when there are 0w-30 full syn for the same price. 0w is STILL to thick at 100*f to properly lube an engine, but its A LOT less thick than 5w at the same cold starting temps.

I only use 100% Pure, Organic, Conventional Bacon Grease.

I've only had one oil change on my 2015 so far. Let Toyota do it for free. So I'm just assuming it's the "Toyota" 5W-30 conventional stuff.

I appreciate al the feed back so far. There a lot of opinions about changing the TYPE of oil that the truck was born with and how soon you should do it. I'm running 5w30 convental oil and I have low mileage and I'm trying to decide whether to go to synthetic and when. Thanks again.

Only negative thing I've ever heard about switching to full synthetic had to do with it being more expensive. Can't recall hearing anything that was truly bad about doing it. Someone directed me to "Bob is the Oil Guy" some months ago. It's a long, somewhat dry, read if you're interested. What I took away from it was this: All motor oil has virtually the same viscosity once at running temperature. However, the point of synthetic is to reduce viscosity at start-up and warm up when the engine endures it's most friction and fatigue.
