What leather does Toyota use in the Tacoma?

I've tried googling but couldn't find an answer but I've been wondering what kind of leather Toyota uses in these trucks? I've seen that Jeep uses Napa leather in some of their vehicles but when I try to look up anything for the Tacoma, it just usually takes me back to TW with people disagreeing whether the Tacoma uses Softex or real leather. As far as my (untrained) eyes can see, and my equally untrained fingers can feel, the leather in used on the main portions of the seats are real while fake leather is used on the outside bolstering (learned about how to find out if car seat is real leather or fake using this video https://youtu.be/sRo4AEL7PXs?t=65 around 1 minute mark). I have no real use for this info but I just wanted to know what kind of leather is used, or maybe it's just generic bottom barrel "genuine leather" I guess... Also happy Friday but my curiosity is real.

There is a few threads on this, with very many opinions. Opinions on what part are leather, and what parts are softex. No what to tell what kind of leather is used if any, so many variations.

I call the "leather" seats in my Tacoma "pleather" (i.e. plastic leather); this spring I'm going to be ordering some nice two-tone leather skins with perforated inserts for my Tacoma and convert to real leather; this outfit makes some really nice custom skins for most makes and models:

I put a kit from this company in my Chrysler to replace the black seats with a deep red color. My car had NAPA leather, shoulda kept it ….. the leather from this company is wearing quickly.
I STRONGLY suggest you order the “Ecstasy“ leather. Even at that, the stitching around the headrests are very sloppy and the vinyl on the sides and back look cheap.

    1. Ecstasy leather
    2. FULL leather kit, no vinyl trim.

The New Car features document says pro models get black leather. It's silent on what 'leather' is used on other trims that aren't fabric. Regardless of the actual material this document says "Emboss-patterned seat covers have been adopted for giving a fascinating style."

So what really matters is the fascinating style those seat covers allow you to have.

    Oh look, another mod....

This is what the internet say's about "Soft Tex Leather". (I know it's not a real leather)

SofTex is a vinyl type material that is claimed to be better than genuine leather. With any fake material cleaning and care is always easy and can in most cases, be cleaned with almost any type of normal cleaning material, but care still has to be taken.

    For the OffRoad it’s anteater.
For the sport (with scoop) it’s octopussy.
    The rest use Bessy.

I had an 87 BMW 330 that had high quality fake leather seats. It looked great and was some tough stuff. And to your point, it was easy to clean and take care of.

The Softex leather in my truck is going on two years old. Granted, the only person that really rides in the truck is me, but the drivers seat hardly shows any signs of wear & tear.
