i want to buy a pair of binoculars to keep in my truck. I want something that can see things a few blocks away. What are some decent brands, and where should I look for them? eBay? Budget ~$100

I have a camera that has a 70-300mm lens, can I get a pair of binoculars with the same power?

I would look at Vortex, good glass for the price.

When you say see a few blocks away are you just using that as an example of distance or are you creepin on someone?

I have a pair of Bushnells,$80.00, pretty decent for the money. They can get real pricy, real quick.

Vortex for the money. Had a pair when they first came out that were back up to my Swarovski's.

I have a pair of Nikon Monarch 5's that I really like. Small and clear. Not terribly expensive.

Vortex is good, Swarovski is of course very good but a little pricey, Bushnell has come a long way, I personally own a pair of Leupold’s and would rate them very high. Had to return a set that had a bad diopter adjustment knob on it and they sent me a brand new pair vs. repairing them. Whatever you decide on make sure they have a “no hassle” lifetime warranty. Even Cabela’s glass is very good and has an excellent warranty. Good Luck!

An 8x binocular is the most mag I like. Too much shake with 10x or more. The odds are your camera has stabilization so its not a good comparison for binoculars.

I got a set of vortex diamondbacks, they are great for the price. I bought my dad the vipers and they are on another level though, price as well.

vortex also has awesome extended warranty if you buy it iirc. you can drop them off a cliff or in a lake and they replace them.
