Hi, I tested a 2 & 1/4 ton floor jack and 3-ton jack stands on my 17 Tacoma DCSB last weekend. The highest floor jack lift range is around 14 1/2" and the jack stands are about 16". I was able to lift the front with the floor rack so that both wheels were off the ground by using some granite blocks of 6" thick, although it's not recommended for safety issues. However, the 3-ton jack stands extend to only about 16" so I couldn't put the jack stands under the jack points recommended by Toyota to support the truck while the front is lifted with wheels off ground. How do you lift the truck for a tire rotation, or what jack stands do you use to do the job?

I have a big orange (3 ton I think) harbor freight floor jack and stands that I've had for a long time. They work, but you have to get the diff pumpkin or the cross member to get enough height. Next floor jack will be taller, but this one has been going strong for a long time.

Thank you all. Seems like a 4-ton bottle floor jack is cheaper and 6-ton jack stands are needed to reach to enough height. Arcan from Costco is great but quite expensive. Maybe get a used one ...
