    Hey guys!

I was hoping y'all could help me out. My tacoma had a new frame put in about 6 years ago, but there was a bit of rust still on some of the other parts underneath. Since I'm a project manager for a painting contractor, I have a ton of rust converter, macropoxy, and any kind of top coat you could think of. I've been slowly but surely using a wire brush on an angle grinder to sand away any rust, convert it, prime it, and paint it. Unfortunately, there are a few pieces that would probably just be easier to replace.

Does anyone know what these are called? I would think it's something along the lines of a leaf spring U Bolt Plate. Does that sound right? Does anyone who has done the ubolt flip mod have these laying around?

If the axle housing looks like that what does the frame look like?

The rear axle housing is by far the worst of it.

No they replace your factory u bolts that point downward's and these point up, basically a lot cleaner look and less likely to get hung up on shit when off-road.

they mount on the axle as normal the u bolts secure your leaf pack to the axle they have nothing to do with the shocks

My rear shocks mount to the Seat Plate I am looking to replace. Maybe I'm misunderstanding something here but if I got rid of that plate and slipped the u bolts, I would need to find a place to mount my shocks

Really that's crazy the 2nd Gen the shocks mount to the axle and the u bolts mount the leaf pack the the axle. Here's what mine look like

True but the original link I posted was for a first gen it looked the same and I had a 1st Gen a while back but I don't remember how the shocks mount, if I'm incorrect I sincerely apologize

Yes you are incorrect. All first gen rear shocks mount to that ubolt plate. Shocks are also inside the frame rails on a first gen. The 2nd gen frame tapers at the rear to allow the shocks to be run outboard. It is a completely different setup.

Most people have brackets for the shocks welded on the axle housings.

I made some brackets for a few of these
