What is this "Escort" device?

Does anyone know what this device is? It's installed on my new to me Tacoma and as I can't find a model number on it, my Google searches haven't come up with any obvious matches. Maybe related to towing?

I'm not sure if I'll ever end up towing a trailer that has electric brakes, but I kinda wonder whether I should rely upon this unit. I think I'll drop a note to Husky to inquire about it, get a manual for it at the very least.

Press button, receive hooker. Pretty simple.

 

You can unplug it from the harness if you decide you dont want to use it and put it away. Installed a ton of them over the years.
