looking to buy plug wires and I see both NGK and Denso plug wires say "boots not included" ???????

yet they also say they have oem style "snap on covers" and the plug end snaps onto the plug for sure fit.

so what are these boots that they are saying are not included? and should I need to buy these unincluded boots

The part that actually wraps around the plug. If they don't include them, it's a reason to charge you more for the parts.

but I can see those extension tubes that snap onto the plug are clearly shown in the picture of it in the bag so they are part of the plug wire as well as the end caps that snap onto the coils

now I know the actual plug coils themselves have boots you can replace as separate items so im wondering if its just a standard disclaimer they use for the coils and the wires and doesn't apply to the wire sets, but then why would they do that :notsure:

Don't know what they mean outside of quoting a price of the wires without the boots, then zapping an extra charge for the boots.

It means you do not get the boots for the spark plugs under the coil pack.

I thought every one knew that !!

Just like the other boots after several hundred thousand miles it does not hurt to change them.

well im buying plug WIRES not coil packs so why do they say the "plug wire" boots are not included when they are and what they really are talking about are the coil pack boots? THAT is the million dollar question lol.

see for yourself what it says when just buying buying spark plug wires: 5mm; Boots not included

because a lot of folks EXPECT the boots for the coil packs to be included, hence the disclaimer.

I was kinda disappointed until I realized that the cables are usually the part that wears, not the boots so much anyway ( they're out of the elements for the most part, other than heat, but handle it well )

I tend to add dielectric grease to the boots anyway every time I change the plugs.

these guys are right. it's referring to the coil on plug boots for the odd numbered cylinders. these should also come with the little spring on the inside

yep, just no reason to even mention them in a replacement plug wire kit. no one with sense would actually expect to get unrelated parts for something like the coil packs when they are just buying new wires. you don't expect to get pistons when you buy a cam any more then you should expect coil pack boots to come with spark plug wires.

I don`t know the first time I bought plug wires I asked why I did not get them.

The first time with a coil pack engine.

Mine were a mess and needed to be changed I just ordered them

well sometimes my comments are rather "direct" but I didn't mean to insult anyone, but since the boots are on the opposite side of the engine so I didn't think anyone would possibly think they should come with the wires

It is quite alright I am told I have no sense all the time.

I am quite stupid I figured the boots under the coil packs would come with the plug wires .

So the theory is when those need replaced you just buy new coil packs ??

well if I were buying the coil packs I would be pissed if they didn't come with the boots and even more pissed if they didn't mention it clearly.

its just wires and coil packs with boots are separate things so I think of them separately
