What headlights are these? 2016 TRD Sport.....

Just picked up a 2016 Sport and was going to do the H11 to H9 headlight mod but my headlights look different than everything I see.....are these the stock headlights for a 2016 Sport??

 

Definitely not stock. I haven't seen those aftermarket headlights, with 2 projectors.

Any branding on the backside?

 

I have no idea what those lights are but they're definitely not factory.

I would highly recommend replacing them with OEM LED housings. You'll need an adapting harness from @Puppypunter, but the improvement is well worth it.

 

that looks like them......the low-beams are terrible, will try the H9's and see if that helps....

Also, be sure to adjust the aim. Make sure they're not pointed too far up, blinding others and reducing visibility.

 

On a side note, here is the fuel pump recall. Your 2016 is covered for 10 years regardless of mileage if you smell gas. Welcome to TW.

Ugh, sorry to read this, yet another person accidentally bought a used with Chinesium shitty headlight assemblies. There’s a thread a few days old, same thing.
The Tacoma is often a modded vehicle, so hopefully potential used buyers take note.

 

yep seeing that now.....people have bought these because they look good but are absolute crap at night.....don't really drive much after dark but going to try these H1 bulbs and see if it improves....

Maybe look for some OE used. Just make sure the tabs aren’t broken (from a wrecked) and they’re packaged well,, as they tend to break easily.

 

Quite a few folks were changing out OEM halogen lights for LED. Look in the classified, you can probably find a set. Better yet, if the budget allows, get the LEDs.
