You can join the Yakima club. Went on in about 10 minutes, no holes. Hasn't rained yet but I doubt it'll leak. You'll need q16 clips, 4 q towers and 48 inch round bars. I added a fairing and all in all it came out to 300 with craigslist and eBay. If I had been patient, I could have done it for 250.

What about two bed rail caps that have tubing stub up in each corner. Then bend the two hoops just above cab height, one across the tail gate the other at the cab. Drill a cross hole in each stub and hoop, so you can put a pin in it. When you dont have the boat on you can pull them off. Then you will be able to carry both.

Ace hardware is where it's at for a solid selection of hardware that could rival Tacoma Screw and Fastenal.

Why not roll it out and let it sit in the sun. Might dry faster.

Haha, that's weird. I work at a Home Depot and the Lowe's in our city out of business. Now we are the second highest volume Home Depot in Wa. But I don't think our hardware selection is all that great, we don't have a lot of metric or specialty parts.

Fastenal maybe, but Tacoma Screw? Have you been in the back of one of those places? They have everything. Everything.

    Reserected from the dead.

Replaced this noisy bastard. Silence, truly is golden.

Rock auto always gets it right. Ordered on Friday, got is Tuesday afternoon. Installed 2 hours after FedEx dropped off.

I'm in no hurry, I don't want the wind to blow stuff on it, might as well just wait.

I posted one earlier, I'll take a close up tomorrow.0809171219.jpg

I'm going to add a stretch kit at some point, it essentially doubles the room so I can use the whole roof.

Also mounted these up, didn't have time to properly wire them so they're aesthetic for now.:sorry:

Tacoma Screw has a great selection of hard to find stuff but their actual fastener selection is what I'm talking about, and it is good too but still ACE usually has what I need.

Did your truck come stock with that 3 piece window? I really want one of those - my 2nd gen has one and it's way better than the 4 piece on my first gen!

True that. It seems like I'm always looking for really strange fasteners though. Tacoma Screw and McMaster Carr are my go-to places.

Did my first timing belt/water pump/drive belts job. took me about 7 hours to complete. Just got my tacoma and started learning to work on it a few months ago. was fun. well torquing the crankshaft pulley bolt to 184ft-lbs was not fun.
