Unloaded, do you find it makes contact a lot sooner and roughens the ride? Our roads are shit here in Chicago, just don't want to be bumping all over the place when I'm just city driving - but want the benefit of having the extra stiffness in the rear when the trailer is loaded.

It does make contact sooner than stock. But I wouldn’t say it’s uncomfortable.

After much research, bought and installed a rack system for my kayaks.

Yakima Track Towers on existing A.R.E. tracks (likely Yakima, as well). 60 inch Yakima JetStream cross bars.

I went with the Track Towers for their simplicity. I don't want, and would prefer not to have, cross bars that are easily removable. The Track Towers bolt in with no release mechanism like there is with SkyLines and Thule's Rapid Podium.

Agreed. It pushes the wheel out just enough.

I thought about the vinyl for the wheels. Just not sure I’d be satisfied with being able to put them on correctly enough.

Worth it is subjective. If you didnt have to pull money from your bills and will be financially okay then yes. Are 5K shocks twice as good as 2.5k shocks? No.. The dollar to comfort ratio decreses the higher end you get. Most people are probably fine with Bilsteins, Fox ETC and would not really notice a huge difference. However, I have Kings on my other daily offroad truck and that spoiled me and I would never put anything else on. This Taco with the Kings is my favorite offroad setup I have ever had. Amazing at high and low speed. Every minute im itching to go out and just run some rough stuff. It puts a smile on my face everyday.

I hear you there. It really is time consuming. I found doing it when its hot out. no go. too flexy. I also think their "adhesion promoter" makes it too sticky and doesnt give you any wiggle room to peel up a bit and reset. I said good enough and hit the spots that had silver peeking through with a sharpie. They do have plenty of extra stickers to go through. You have to get about a foot away and really look to even notice its vinyl. a pain yes, but easier than taping off and spraying them. I love the stock rims and that was my plan. I even have the spidertrax already here but am going another route.

Yes I never finance mods and we are more than fine where I can drop $5k on a setup and wife is like sure. I just don’t want to run the other kits that are preload collars and a puck. I have 5100s on my current truck cause that’s all I needed and it’s not wonderful but fine, not my first rodeo or Tacoma build and understand need vs cost. I mean I don’t need lightweight super strong TEs for mall crawling and light fire roads but I can and do. I was just curious how they perform. Thanks.

No, just 25ish easy miles. Didn’t want to drive back home, get GF, then pick it up so I just brought my trailer :D

Oh, good. There's another thread where people were asking about the Toyota rock rails. Did they come with all the necessary hardware? About how heavy? Bolt to the frame?
    Thanks in advance.

It was considerably heavier than I thought it would be.
