It would be awesome wrapping the steering wheel like that. Wonder if it's been done?

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
finished installing OME lift. Now I just need to order a stabilizer bar relocater because there is only a finger width of space from the coil on the passenger side.

Yes it would look good but if anyone does this plan ahead as to where the start and stop will be with the cord. Place it in a spot you do not normally hold the wheel at so that area does not get handled much. You do not want this to get unwrapped and the cord catch on something or bind up the wheel when you really need to steer at that moment!

It will take quite a bit of time, as stated above, to do this so give yourself plenty of time. If you got to go pick up the wife or get to work don't start this and expect to be done in 10 minutes. Don't drive with the cord dangling at all, just don't do it. Tape it to the wheel if necessary, bad stuff just happens sometimes so don't give it more of a chance to happen to you. :)

Wrapped my "Oh Shit" handles with 550 Cord, using SkeeterBilt's advice. It definitely ain't pretty, but it's the best I could do after about 3 tries on each handle.

Did you do it with the handles off? when I originally wrapped my handles a while back on an 04 Tacoma, I did it with the handles still bolted on and it came out just "okay". This time around on my 13 I removed the handles and wrapped them both.

Took me 5 minutes or so for each handle, got a real tight wrap, and was able to wrap then exactly the same as I could hold them up next to each other and have the start/end the same for each handle. Instead of burning the ends though I was able to take some needle nose pliers and mash the remaining loose end down into the wrap. I hid the ends on the backside of the handle, out of sight. It has been that way for 2 weeks now and no loosening/unwrapping has occured.

I always use this method (easy, fast, and works)

Unfortunately I sold my 2010 Toyota Tacoma and bought a 2013 Toyota Tundra Crewmax Limited 4x4. Got a great deal on the truck and just couldn't pass the deal up. Talked the price down on the Tundra to $40500 and the dealership gave me $21500 for my 2010. After all the bullshitting with taxes, tags, and all the other charges I walked out the door for $31700 with a 2.25% rate from Toyota Financial Services.

The big thing I am going to miss is the 6 speed manual transmission....

I didn't even know there was an easy method to take them off because they have the RSCA airbags in them. (Didn't want to blow my face off) I used that method too, and tried a couple times to push the ends under the wrap but it just messed it up so I just trimmed as close as I felt comfortable to then burned the ends.

i did mine almost exactly the same, but didnt do the needle nose pilar trick. wrapped it about 13 times as well and compared each one to the other... but i hid my end pieces on the back side of the handle so you can see the lil bit stickin out.
and the link you posted is how i wrapp mine. its easy and looks good.

matt yours looks good, just have to try and tuck the top end piece under and itll be a-ok
