Shamefully had a 3rd gen for 5.5 years and hated changing that oil. Had a quick valve on the pan but that filter system just sucked. 2nd gen is the best oil filter setup that I have seen in my 50 years of driving.

Made my first wiring harness ever. Green/black in left taps power and ground for dash light off the rheostat to power the top row of switches left of the steering wheel. Blue is connected to a switch on the left side and the radio illumination on the right in order to enable/disable radio dimming w/headlights. Red/black on right is to power a USBC QC module.

I didn’t realize crimping too hard would break the connections and I wasn’t bench testing as I went along, so when I finished (the first time) nothing worked. I had to do it all over again . In any case, I’m happy that I went this route rather than permanent spliced connections.

    IMG_1009.jpg

Edit: rookie move, on the left side, I have two 2-pin connectors with different functions right by each other (#4 green+black and #5 blue+blue). I should have used a 3-pin connector for #5 so that it’s not possible to accidentally swap the 2-pin connectors.

Applied two coats of Raptor bed liner to the shell this morning. Used wax/degreaser then adhesive promotor before applying the first coat. Masking seemed to take forever - but was worth it in the end. Great product - sprayed very nicely with the provided air gun at 47-50psi. First coat was covered well - second coat was more to blend and get the tone more of a matte finish.

I’ll update this post Monday when she’s back on the truck.

I recommend tightening them every couple months like it says on their website because the bolts will fall out which has happened to me twice and I had to get replacements which weren't cheap. They weren't like expensive but more than you should pay for it.

Thanks for the heads up, I will make sure to check them regularly. I did start out putting red loctite on them, so I’m interested to see if I have the same issue.

its more so the rear ones that have issues. I feel like some of the bolts weren't long enough so I ended up replacing them with longer ones and haven't had issues with those but I have noticed they still loosen up a bit. Also I should mention I have to drive down a wash boarded road every day so that doesn't help anything.

All new lower control arm adjusters, CV axles, wheel bearings, and upper control arms all done. Need to install the brakes, and torque everything.

I wonder at what point double shear gusset the coil bucket becomes necessary
looks like that's about the only thing it's missing

what kind of bumpstop spacer is that and why'd you get it?
