    I like a subtle troll.

    I used to have a Civic Si (EP3) and I got asked all the time if it was a hybrid. I'd say no, it actually gets the worst gas mileage of all the Civics.

    FYI. I was in the same boat with a chrome grille on my 2008. That is a 2011 style grille. I had bought a used oem painted one for $75 but it was too aged to use so I paid $200 for a new 2011 one from a dealer.

    What he said, the oil in an AIR filter will coat the MAS in a fine mist of oil and over time it will effect how the engine runs. Not good.

    Had a K&N airbox and filter on my 2016 Sport V6 for over 5 years. Never had any issues with my MAF on that truck. I just hated the noise it produced. Had a K&N intake on several cars over many years, including Z28 Camaros, trucks, other cars and my kids 2011 Shelby Mustang, and I never had any issues with any sensors of any kind. I think some people use too much oil which could be the source of their problems.engine - Copy.jpg 20180116_160924.jpg

    This was a pretty large amount of work, but it’s different. May not see another like it.

    TRD knob off of eBay. Said it was for a Camry or Avalon. Couldn’t see the bottom, where it attaches in the photos. Took a chance on it. Anyhow, it is similar to the 3rd gen Tacoma knobs where it snaps onto the shifter and then the boot snaps on the bottom.

    I filled it with epoxy, built epoxy up over the bottom. Drilled and threaded inside with 8-1.25 tap, sanded bottom area round and smooth.

    threads right onto the shift lever and looks pretty dang good IMO.

    TheQuisto, I had my OEM chrome grill painted at the dealership when I purchased my truck in May of 2012. I spoke to the “paint guy” and his only concern was how well the paint would hold up to road debris like small rocks etc… He recommended he adjust hardener ratio to the paint and I agreed. I think I paid under $100 for the dealership to paint match my spruce mica and today it still like brand new.

    there is no point to the higher cost of a K&N, not including the drawbacks.
    OEM filter, done.

    snorkel precleaner or cowl intake mod results in less dirt.

    I’d like a set like the black ones. Is there a part number on them or are they stock steps?

    Put in a safety cord just in case something fails you will be able to get the tailgate open manually.

    After 7 years with the AFE Magnum intake, the silicone couplers were rotting. They're single ply, so it's not surprising. I replaced them today with 3 ply and t-bolt clamps. The worm clamps were digging into the silicone. If anyone is looking for replacements, the dimensions are 4" ID x 3" hump and 3" ID x 3" straight length. I bought mine on ebay. They were cheaper than Amazon with tbolt clamps included.

    @Oregonhillbilly

    I like that….

    Went a different route when the leather on my shift knob was degrading. Had to find the correct thread adapter 8mm-12mm, but I’m happy with how it looks.
