https://nhoilundercoating.com/vehicle-undercoating-near-me/ Unfortunately, I'll have to call the NH Oil Undercoating dealer in Montana to see if they're still doing that sideline to their construction business only a five hour drive from me. There is a dealer in Cato, NY a little more than an hour from Ithaca, and worth a phone call after perusing the New Hampshire Oil Undercoating site.
I was quite happy to have this food grade oil based product applied to the 2009, the first frame treatment since Dad bought the truck new, in 2022. Guy (the dealer and applicator's name) told me they bagged the exhaust system before spraying so there's no potential for an aroma burning off and entering the cab. They spent a week in training to become a dealer in the NHOU products and I knew they'd had plenty of practice on their own business equipment before I drove those hours and spent several days in western MT visiting old places I'd been while on the trip (spring break week from my elementary school volunteer crossing guard job.). It's documented that a Lab licked the product from a truck frame, so it's definitely non-toxic and does work its way into crevices (and spray into the bottom drains of the doors, which is good for the weld seams. And for my skin, just wiped off with a paper towel while applying HushMat sound deadening inside the doors.

Truck started throwing P0304 code a few days ago, ran pretty rough in first and second gear. A few people told me to change the bad coil, but since I already had everything out of the way, I decided to change all spark plugs and coil pack. Drove for about 10 minutes, truck hasn’t thrown a code, but I was doing all of this at work so I was limited on how long I could work on my truck. I plan on driving it for about an hour tomorrow to let the truck work out it’s kinks, idle is a little low but I’m just gonna let the truck figure out the fuel/air ratio.

Got from Ebay a "blemished" Genuine Toyota Tacoma TRD PRO Front Skid Plate PTR60-35190 OEM for $245! The skid plate was in pristine condition. The only issue was a set of stripped bolts.

It's been awhile since I've done anything to the truck, mostly focusing on NLC. But today - Finally after a year, I got around to freaking detailing it. Clayed, waxed and a ceramic coat. Noticed some massive sun damage on the roof. Not at all stoked about that.

Aaand of course I immediately had to go trail hunting :D

Drilled holes through my new bed shell and mounted a set of Yakima roof tracks. I've been shitting bricks over drilling holes in my new to me cap, but it turned out great. Measured 50 times, drilled once. Also installed a roof net inside the cap, and frontrunner feet on the rack while I await the rest of the extruded parts from Tnutz. Ordered a week ago and hasn't shipped yet, so I've gone as far as I can with this project until the parts arrive.

Drilling holes through my new (to me) shell. Yeah that’s probably got a pretty high pucker factor! Haha!!

Spent part of the weekend color matching the bumpers and adding LED tail and 3rd brake lights. Bumperskinz on the rear and a replacement bumper cover up front.

Fiancé decided she wanted to go on a camping/kayaking trip last minute Saturday-Monday. Hadn’t ordered any kayak racks yet to be able to fit two on top, which is the eventual plan, but we loaded down and made it work. Don’t think I could’ve fit anything else in/on this ole Yota. Hope everyone had a great weekend, Happy Memorial Day!

Yeah it bothers me when people say "have a happy memorial day" or other stuff like that. I mean yes those who gave their lives did it for our livelihood and our happiness but it still feels like such a wrong thing to say.

Fixed that stupid driver's side window rattle. I took the door off and all the bolts were tight so proceeded to lay in some weather stripping. Worked like a charm.
