Please keep me posted on mpg change. I've spoken to ov tune and they were more expensive, but I learned that the additional cost was because they tailor the tune to your specific vehicle rather than just flashing the ecu with a generic file. I've been on the fence for so long because no one tunes their 2nd gen (ive even asked tuners to connect me with their 2nd gen customers and they seemingly couldn't find more than 1 or 2).

Wheeling & camping in the Sierra Anchas mountains / Coffepot cabin / canyon with camping in torrential downpour w some good dudes with a great attitude. Do not attempt this trail, it is horrible. It is also on someone’s private property who owns 25k acres which is insane in itself. Beautiful but overgrown & horrible to wheel. My new front suspension was pretty sweet though, as this was the break-in for it. (8112 bilsteins). Couldn’t be happier with how my truck is running with the 8112/7100 combo and the 5:29 gears put in 1st or 2nd gear is just wonderful for technical descending which we did many hours of. The 2 older trucks almost ran out of gas & we rode hard and put away wet just about everything as we got trapped in the storm Saturday night. Gnarly time

Hihi gang. I didn't take this picture today. I took it in like 2011 but I lost the image until today.

So here is a manual 07 towing a J24 over 3 12,000 foot mountain passes... Yes it was unsafe, yes everything worked out, no you should not try this.

    image003.jpg

I had to get a new clutch after the tow

I figured for $14 it was worth a shot. I’m hopeful and crossing my fingers the bulbs work out.

It works well enough. The tuner and volume dials don’t function as intended. I’m so thankful for the steering wheel controls as it’s the only way I can find stations or control the volume.

I will keep you posted on Mileage. I'm sure there are those that don't agree with a tune on a 2nd gen and that ok, I wouldn't do some of the mods other owners do to their tacoma's. But I like peanut butter and liver wurst sandwiches too.

That's a great idea! Mine is down near my right knee on that little cubby and I keep rubbing my knee against it.

    This and that...
One factory fog light filled with water, right after new bulbs. Upgraded to some Diode Dynamic Elite Series fogs. Went yellow due to longer wavelength and supposedly better performance in snow. Just got them aimed and pretty happy with them. Sharp cutoff. The backlight is nice too when parking lights and headlights are on but fogs are off.

Also a wash and wax after some fall trips.

The raptor liner finally wore out on the grill…got a color matched one on marketplace after months of driving around with an ugly half chrome half raptor one

    2" spacer lift, 285/70 R17's and a Softopper.
This is almost exactly the kind of thing I have been considering. I need a new radio and I need to mount some switches. It hit me the other night that I could get a SIngle din mounted up high like yours and add a switch panel under it. Now if I can just decide on a radio.
