Revised Scion microphone to Tacoma adapter (couldn’t get the other wires inserted into the connector for my first attempt).

Well the call came in yesterday- Alcan Springs is finished with my custom leaf pack - :bananadance:

Called Lew (owner ) and am heading up (10 hr drive) there next week to have them do the install. We will be removing my shackle flip (PO) and replacing with archive garage hammer hangers with 3.6 shackles and HC crossbar. Also installing Archive garage stage 5 ubolt flip.

I would install myself but with a custom leaf pack I would rather they install just in case something isn’t right they can fix right there as opposed to paying for shipping back and forth and waiting etc. (one and done)

My HC crossbar arrived today so I have everything I need to complete the rear suspension rebuild

(minus my Fox 2.5 w/DSC smoothies being built/tuned by accutune) will
Install the new coilovers and rear shocks hopefully April/may.

They are super simple to install and I put them on for peace of mind, I use a rack and RTT so a shell might hold them together better than a rack but its still extra weight pushing down and out. DCLB means your bed sides are a foot longer and more likely to push out than a short bed. If you want some that are barely there, Total Chaos offers some that barely stick out at all compared to some others. I have Rago Fab and enjoy some extra tie down points since my D-rings are seized.

I think he meant the 6112s he installed are intended for a 3rd gen tacoma.

Where did you get the pop n lock? Was it pretty easy with the back up camera?

You can get them on Amazon or other websites. It has a piece that pops out and you can put your camera in it. I had to buy a metal adapter for it because I broke the plastic one that was on there.

FWIW, my PL5200 manual locking one was on my 05 AC for a few years and moved over to the 08 RC in 2011 and is still going strong. No issues with it ever.

You may want to pick up a spare handle gasket when you do it. You have to reuse your own and mine was so brittle it cracked.

I'd recommend using something to condition it or protect it. Like Back to Black or something. That handle notoriously fades to an almost whitish gray color fast.

I ended up dying my handle black so I don't really worry about it anymore.

I got one that matched my color and it's holding up just fine after 3 years.

    Truck things
New serpentine belt today. Question. Would having a slightly stretched serpentine belt make a slight whining noise? Usually when I start my truck there is a slight whining noise and then after about five minutes of driving it goes away, even when my truck is mostly warmed up. Just wondering because when I started my truck after putting on the new belt, I didn't hear the same whining I've been tracking down. Just trying to sanity check myself
