Are the bushings on the TRD OR rubber or poly? Tryna figure out which kind of grease to buy.

    all tore up already
Which bushings? All rubber to my knowlege and not easy to grease. You talking about uca bushings? The radiator support bushings are known to fail and cause an annoying squeak but nothing grease can fix

Sorry, should have been more specific: UCA and/or sway bar bushings.

My suspension is squeaking/chirping like crazy - almost constantly actually. Just started yesterday. Figured it may just be dirt in the leaf springs so gave it a good power rinse. That stopped the chirp for maybe 5 miles then it came back this morning. It sounds like a family of baby birds.

Hard to tell if it's coming from the front or back. I'm familiar with the leaf springs making noise - sounds more like a mattress spring. This is like birds chirping so I'm thinking maybe bushings? Maybe U-bolts? Figured I'd use some WD-40 on the leaf springs and contact points with the U-bolts, but was going to either get some silicone or lithium grease for the bushings, depending on the material.

It's not a chirping fuel pump; I know what those sound like.

    Thx.

I used white lithium grease with a straw on the can to inject the grease into my rear leaf bushings, worked for me they are rubber bushings OEM

I don't have a torque wrench, but they felt tight. I have my 5k service coming up and will have them check. I think this could well be the problem.

Garcia. That's what I'll do for now.

When I checked mine, 7 out of 8 were good.
Get a torque wrench brother, you will be glad you did. I have a craftsman, works good enough for me.

Meh....I think I probably went over 52 myself...., maybe more, aint gonna hurt them, over 52 ft lbs is all I was worried about. 1 out of 8 was loose, gave an extra 1/2 thread to be sure, hahaha.

    Wrong. 3/4" ;)

Any grease that isn't petroleum based, white lithium as others suggested. Just be consisted and don't mix greases.

    So...

Just torqued to 52 ft-lbs (U-bolts were loose), so that's good. Also got some white lithium spray grease and applied to the contact points on my leaf springs, as well as all the bushings that were easily-enough within reach without pulling out my jack.

The birds went away for a couple miles and are back. Think I'll jack up each side and grease again. Actually - clean off all the dirt, let dry, then jack then grease. Hope that's a more lasting solution.
