my manual calls for a lithium based grease on the shaft, the X-tra is polyurea based and not compatible with what it was installed with. Im not sure how much that matters in this application, but some info for anyone else reading this

This is why you keep pumping the grease gun until all the grease comes out bright green at the U-joint bearing caps, indicating all the old grease had been purged out.

Living in FL my grease gun would leak like crazy after a few days sitting in the garage, so I started keeping it in the beer fridge instead, seemed to help!

*edit also to keep on topic, I use the Lucas Red and Tacky, though I will say anything that meets manufacture spec of the U-joints will be ok with regular greasing.

Owned the truck for 9 months, put about 3k miles on it since then. ALL camping trips outside of grocery store runs just to get the juices flowin every so often.

That being said, i did purge hard. feels like i went through half a tube of grease lol

Not much on mods - Leer 180, TRD wheels, Mobtown sliders, rear hitch, helper springs on the rear

2015 4 cyl Access Cab - with a manual transmission - LockNLube definitely works on the front U-joints. It's a tight fit, but once coupled, the hose will not come of the fitting until you press the release.

I prefer the lever grip, even though it's overkill. I only need about 4 to 5 pumps per U-joint.

Hey guys. I have a 2014 Pre SR5 and I never greased anything. After reading this thread, I am seriously behind. I did, however, did my 100k tuneup / maintenance a week or so ago.

So, im sure greasing is simple, i just need pics to show me what to do. Is there another thread that shows the zerks, u-joints, and anything that needs to be done maintenance wise?

I use Motomaster Marine grease on the driveshaft and the zerks, works like a charm
