I don't go out of my way to hit deer, I actually try to avoid it, but when I do, I want to be going 70 and not need a tow truck.

What kind of Full hoop bumper is best for this task?

Price doesn't matter. Just needs to be best suited for killing deer.

No first hand experience but my guess would be ARB. Lots of pics online showing dead deer and bumpers showing no damage.

Yeah, probably ARB. They just released a new one for the 3rd Gen I believe.

Seems like a purpose built custom would be a good idea if price isn't a consideration.

If that's the goal, I would agree and say ARB is for sure your answer.

Jeez there's so much love for ARB. Is it really that superior? I've been eyeballing the cbi, c4, and relentless fabrication hoop bumpers, but if arb really is the toughest, then yeah, that's what I wanna go with.

Hah! I love the premise. I’d go with a hay bale spike, then you already have the deer skewered and ready for the fire!!!

Arb is the only company that crash tests their bumpers and are approved, etc, for Australia, which has different laws than here. They maintain crime zones, and build them in to keep you protected. There's just more R&D by far.

Yeah, the crash testing always kind of threw me off with ARB's. I mean, a bumper that crumples is EXACTLY what I would want in an accident, but my 2001 Subaru had crumple zones too, and it crumpled in a 5mph collision lol. Huge repair bill! Just want something that's strong enough to kill a deer without crumpling, and will crumple before my frame does.

Leaning towards ARB, So many people are recommending it for deer killing, They must be on to something.

I've learned by now that as long as you don't hit a deer with the corner of the bumper on a 359 pete, you can easilly mow them down at ~40mph with no noticeable damage. I'd love to know what that kind of bumper can handle.

ARB's bumpers have been killing kangaroos in Australia for decades. Of all the bumpers you can get in the US in my opinion they probably have one of the best track records for solidly protecting vehicles against big animal strikes. You pay for it in weight, but they are strong.

I think the idea behind the engineering on the crumple is if you get in a head on collision with another vehicle at speed, the bumper is not so strong that the other person is totally screwed. I think they are trying to make sure their bumpers are not killing other people in head on collisions.
