In an NA application, the output of an OEM replacement should be plenty.

Why are you replacing your pump? Are you trying to correct a problem or just high mileage and your going to have the bed off anyway?

The fuel pump is causing running problems such as not starting without hitting the gas, engine dying when there's too much strain due to not getting gas, and finally surging/ stalling when driving sometimes.
I have new plugs, wires, injectors, and it's not the air intake so it has to be the fuel pump. also took it to a mechanic and they think it's the fuel pump awell.
Its at 200,000 and its never been replaced

Yes, you might need a new gasket on the top section.

make sure it’s an OEM desno part tho,

there are plenty of aftermarket fakes,
But I don’t know if they make fake fuel pumps yet

Have you replace the fuel filter along the inside of the left frame rail?

Fuel pump typically either work or don't work not work weakly.

Sounds like you have a fuel delivery issue. Have you checked your rail pressure?

    Fuel issues can be
    1) pump
    2) filter
    3) plugged fuel injectors or faulty

I should definitely mention that the ga gauge has been acting up a bit as well. When I was driving it to the mechanic it was at 3/4 tank then moved to 1/2 then back within the span of a few minutes. Also I already have a newish fuel filter

Have you tested your fuel pressure regulator?

    How many miles?

You may have sticking injectors, getting a matching set (meaning internal ohms) from a handful of junkyard trucks within factory spec then sending them off to Witch Hunter Performance to have them cleaned rebuilt and flow matched really woke up my old tired 99 V6.

I'd also clean and check your MAF and TB as well as your TPS.

It could very well be your pump perhaps your pump sock has plugged and collapsed but really we're just spit balling and loading the parts shotgun without further diagnosis.

Are you in the rust belt? Is your fuel tank in good shape? Once you start taking stuff apart, you may find that the tank is rather crusty; just be ready to deal with that.
