My torque converter is trashed and I will be replacing it soon. I am going to replace the engine rear main seal while I'm there.
My question is, what else should I replace while the transmission is out?

Considering it is an 05, what caused the convertor to "trash" in the first place. considering the transmission system, how much trash got into the system? You should look close at the transmission, lines and cooler if you have one. If the whole system is contaminated, it would be good money after bad if you didn't do anything to the rest of the system.

I do a lot of extreme off-roading. Of course like an idiot I got both front and rear bumpers before suspension, stupid. Couple of years ago I jumped the truck 7-10 ft in the air and destroyed the entire suspension, motor mounts, drive shaft, and frame. It was so much impact I cracked the rotors and tore the motor mounts off the frame of the truck.
I also think that the previous owner towed too much because he said he wanted a bigger truck to tow... I believe it caused the Differential to have a catastrophic failure, picture down below.

The truck just started this issue this weekend and it has a shutter around 30-40 mph. It only comes on with the gas pedal on at that speed which eliminates suspension (it would be constant), steering (it would also be constant) and engine (it would still be there just less and continue to get worse no mater the speed). I don"t have issues with shifting (eliminating bad transmission) and no overheating issues so far.
With all of this said I believe I have it isolated between the transmission and the engine which leaves torque converter or misalignment (unlikely)

What do you think? Help is greatly appreciated!

could be bent driveline,, worn u-joints/center bearing etc. I'd prob say its not a torque converter if the transmission seems fine. Have you pulled the transmission pan and looked at the oil?

I have already rebuilt both of the drive shafts and had them re-balanced. I pulled the pan about 4 years ago right as I bought it. It looked great, I am going to pull it again on Friday.

First we need the picture of you jumping 7’ in the truck. Second, that is not extreme off roading, that is just abusing your truck. Like others have said, if the trans is shifting fine, it’s probably not the torque converter causing a shudder. I’d bet something is bent, driveshaft carrier bearing, or something else causing it since it is only at a certain speed and only while accelerating.

I have had a unbalanced drive shaft before and it's a different feeling. when I accelerate from 0-28mph and from 45-80 mph I have no vibrations and no noise. When I had a bend drive shaft it would have a shake and noise Everytime I would accelerate really hard no matter what. I don't have that problem now. What else could it be?

Might be just the carrier bearing. Those will make it shudder like all hell if they're torn up.

The other two things that got broken are typical for 2005's. The motor mounts caving in is a known weakness that was addressed part way through model year 2006. The offroad E-locker is known to grenade like that. Both of those problems can happen without ANY abuse. Certainly jumping it will exacerbate the problem.

For the shuddering problem, try changing the fluid. Simple as that. If the fluid level is just LOW, it can do weird things.

what does your driveline angle look like? also what does your leaf springs look like? Could very well be a torque converter, just have to see what the oil looks like. You could have bent the shaft on the trans or other damage if you broke motor mounts etc...

Drive shaft angle looks good. leafs have less than 1,000 miles on them. I have'nt checked the trans fluid yet.
I have a new frame, motor mounts and transmission mounts.

The carrier bearing has about 20,000 miles on it I replaced it when I rebuild the drive shaft.
I have a new frame, motor mounts and transmission mounts. I was having issues with my wiring in the differential locker so I disconnected it in the unlocked position.

You misunderstand. The differential WITH the locker is overall just a lot weaker than the standard differential. Locked or not, they're known to blow.

I replaced the fluid and my rumble strip problem went away. It would show up at low speed with light throttle. It would go away if I lifted or pressed harder on the gas.

At the time I also suspected the torque converter. Replacing the fluid was the first step. Toyota also recommended replacing the transmission mount.

Ooooohhhh, ok. Well it is about 2,000 miles old because when my differential failed it destroyed the locker too. would it still break that soon?
