what does these abbreviations mean ......?

    Hi all
    can someone tell me what the abbreviations mean.. MH,MV,MLH,MRH,MRV, M+
    PLEASE SEE ATTACHED PIC.
    The wiring diagram is for the switch that controls the sideview mirrors

    M+ is the power feed
    MLH and MLV are for the motors in the left mirror.
    MRH and MLH are for the motors in the Right mirror.

    The motors controlled Left/Right or Up/Down by reversing polarity.
    So depending on what why the switch is being pressed, you can have power or ground on the same wire at different time.

    Thanks, I guess there is some complicated reasoning behind the decision to label a Ground wire "E" obviously it is a ground looking at the diagram, I was overthinking it and thought it meant something else...lol

    E stands for Earth.
    It was carried over from long ago when "grounding" rods were used.
    You drove a big long grounding rod into the "Earth".


    At least that's what I was told. And I'm included to believe it.
    Because it makes sense.

    BTW, most of the old ground rods are solid copper.
    They are worth quite a bit of money. I pulled a few out of the ground from a couple old homes we've torn down over the years. Copper price are high these days.
