Never been a fan of hood. Always like the roof. Either way, it’s your truck. The only question should be, do YOU like it. If you do, that is all that matters :)

My 09 roof and hood has the clearcoat clouding and starting to peel so that's next for me too.
Paint, bedliner, or a wrap. Lots of options I'm looking at. ARE shell is black already.
Did you sand/prime and type of paint did you use? Clearcoat after is also an option but....

I wrapped the roof of my Old GTI matte black and while it looked cool, I could instantly tell the difference in cabin temperature after I did it.

Black absorbs heat energy more than other colors, so I personally wouldn't recommend it to people in hot climates.
I'm actually going to paint the roof on my van white (or slightly offwhite) to try and make it less of a toaster oven.

Why did you paint your headlights?

Black in what looks like a southern state(probably true due to 2WD) is not a good color for a vehicle unless you want your vehicle to be hotter than normal.

I like the look, but it looks rattle canned. Or maybe it's just dirty in the pics?

I'm old...………….but I dis the white roof and pillars of older trucks and SUVs, I guess that was from an era where air conditioning was an option. Looks like Toyota revisited this on the FJ Cruiser and now new RAV4. I have hear lots of people hate it, but I have always loved that effect. The FJ55 and early GM trucks looked great in this guise.

If I could have bought a new Tacoma in bright, solid, non metallic, red I would have purchased that and pained the "greenhouse" white and spec'd with clear windows.

I love the faded pink the Toyota red becomes in 25 years.

My hood and roof are starting to oxidize. I had thought about having them wrapped in the matte black. This way if they do the recall on the Nautical Blue I could still be covered...
