I'm a big fan of nap roulette... But that's more of a necessity than hobby. Exercise, motorcycles, and R/C cars are the non-sleeping hobbies.

When I’m not at work I have a side business. I work on motorcycles. Lately I haven’t had much time doing this.

    Retired.

Run my side gig at a nice, slow pace.

I do quite a bit of welding/fabrication/lawn mower repair. I try to limit that 3 hours. I still enjoy it because it's not a business/job. It's just a hobby that supports itself.

I try to limit my clients to those that only have commercial units.

The big box store crap are money losers. They built so shitty, you know it's coming back and you know the customer is gonna think it was your fault it broke.

I kitesurf; mountain bike, rock climb, and camp with my kids, and am currently into small models with my son. We’re needing to get an airbrush because fading camo colors with a mask and rattlecan is hard. Oh, and I paint the house all the time because my wife fears commitment. And I hang out with my internet friends on TacomaWorld. I like you people.

Doesn't have to be one hobby. If I'm not scuba diving I'm camping. If not that, it's kayaking. Or it's building something and making sawdust. Or it's fixing something around the house, cars, or trailer. Or 3d printing. Or it's playing with an RC toy. Or maybe I cook for the fun of it. On a quiet Saturday we'll take the commuter train downtown and see whats going on at the museum district. On a quiet Sunday we'll hit the bike trail and do a pedal beer crawl.

Or maybe sometimes I'll sit my fat butt on the couch and play Red Dead Redemption.

Point is, boredom only exists if you let it. A hobby is not a marriage, feel free to dabble wherever the mood strikes.

I make things. Woodworking and metalworking. I make pens, and give them to friends, neighbors and coworkers. I make model steam engines and other mostly useless things that bring me satisfaction.

Do not try to turn a hobby into a business. Then it becomes just another job, and will no longer be a hobby.

Oooh, been wanting to unlock the scuba part of my life map but was waiting until we bought a sailboat. I was at a dive shop a few weeks back to get a pair of OG jet fins restrapped and was also tempted by the lovely wall of carbon skin diving fins. Speaking of diving, we were doing some birding last week and spotted a rarity for my part of SoCal—a common murre. Those things can dive nearly 600’ down. Insane. They also can’t walk and fall like morons — like, a lot — on hard packed wet sand.

For now, rebuilding a mobile home on a property we bought a couple years ago. After that? Getting our boat back in the water...and time at the property carving trails and making it nice.
Bunch of videos in my channel.

I collect hot wheels and match box cars. I also trade diecast cars with my best friend and we both like to work and play with our real cars and trucks.

Just a little Regal 18 bowrider. It has a Volvo I/O...its 22 years old and runs great! Only problem is getting time to enjoy it. We have it at our dock on a lift, covered up tight.

In the winter I build scale models, in the spring or summer I spend more time on my bike. One of these Toyotas is next up to build, probably a African Civil War or coup kerfuffle technical20240225_182000.jpg
