I've had my procomp wheels for almost a year now and it seems like the dirt sticks to the matte black finish. Kinda hard to clean it. I'm not trying to make it shiny obviously since it's matte black, just want to get the scum/dirt off. What do you guys use? Elbow grease? Wheel cleaner? Degreaser?

I also have procomps. I just use my meguairs car soap and sponge. Mine clean up surprisingly easy. My wheels are about 2 years old.

I do use 2 different buckets and sponges when I wash. One for wheels and tires and one for the truck paint. I use the meguiars gold class shampoo and conditioner. It suds up real nice seems to leave a more waxy appearance than cheaper soap.

I use car soap and a sponge too. I also wax them after so they clean up easy on the next wash.

Use the two bucket method to wash. one bucket with clean soapy water and the other to rinse the wash mitt. Once clean, spray with CarPro IRONX or Sonax full effect wheel cleaner. It dissolves the brake dust and washes right off. TARX works great at dissolving tar if you have tar deposits on your wheel. Wash the wheel again with the two bucket method. Once it is clean to your satisfaction use the chemical guys wheel guard. It keeps the hard stuff from sticking to it. It works better than wax for car paint which can cloud or discolor your matte painted wheels.

Should clean up with soap and water. Very rarely do you need something stronger. Wheel cleaners are a little over-sold/marketed.

The one product that I would recommend is an EZ-Detail brush. that will make cleaning the inside barrels of the wheels a piece of cake. Otherwise, a rag/wash mitt/etc will be fine for the face of the rim.

I use the Sonax wheel cleaner for my matte black SCS wheels. Although I'm not sure if Sonax is too strong.. seems to work well thoughl

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
I always just use the soapy water left over after washing and a rag to clean wheels. Any wheels. No risk of chemical damage to the finish that way and no weird stains on pavement afterwards.

If didn't wash already (no bucket of soap out already), just a wet rag works. As in dripping soaking wet. Don't wring it out beforehand.

Auto parts stores sell all-purpose cleaners like purple power or simple green. Any of those are fine. Some of that and a plastic bristle wheel brush should take care of it.

Glad it might have worked for most you guys but purple power and countless other"chemicals" haven't worked for me. Soap and water would just get off simple dirt and even with a brush I never could seem to get the wheels clean looking especially in the corners like on the OP's wheels.
