Bc i bought one today for 103 bucks w/ core trade-in. Has a 3 year warranty plus 2 year prorated..whatever the fuck that means.

Old battery was a duralast and it couldn't hold a charge after about 4.3 years...not bad but it cost me about 150 and had a 3 year warranty.

    Walmart?

I dig them for all my vehicles. Walmarts are everywhere and most of them are 24/7.

they are good, made by East Penn... a pretty common mfr of batteries. They also rotate through stock fast enough at Walmart that you likely get a fresh battery, instead of one that's been half sulfated by the time you get it.

The one thing I don't like about them is they gather corrosion on the terminals. Apply a little fluid film after install and you should be good to go.

The previous owner of my truck had one installed. Date sticker said 2011. I bought it in 2017, died a few months after I got it. Longest lasting car battery Ive seen yet.

    Neverstart?

Nope, hard pass. I go AGM for my batteries, but I understand those are expensive for some folks, so honestly it's always going to be a roll of the dice when you are talking about flooded cell batteries.

I stay far away from AAA batteries, Neverstart's, DieHard, and Duralast batteries no matter what. Exide batteries are a pretty safe bet for the most part. Interstate used to be great stuff back in the early 2000's but they started getting produced very sloppy after a while as well. AC Delco used to be our go-to as well, though I cannot say why we switched to Exide. Very low warranty rate for the most part.

I installed a odyssey batt for my 08 5.7 sequoia (family car) in November and my solar battery tester measured 1150-1200cca.
I tested it this weekend almost 3 yrs after I installed it and now it's at 1050cca. It's a pc1750. It cranks noticeably faster too.
I think interstate batteries are decent too.

Average battery life is 3-5 years. It comes down to owner negligence, type of use, and care which will ultimately determine how long a battery will actually last.

    Exactly!
My other odyssey os at 650cca right now and I installed bot at the same time but the weak one was abused by a digital designs m3c amp :D
I have a agm from autozone in my celica and I have a parasitic draw( I think I know what it is) well, I didn't drive it for about 6 days probably 7 and the battery was at 8v. I charged it up but it was weak and replaced by warranty at autozone. It was only a year old

a dropped one and a high one
Yellow top Optima seems to be a favorite for some people here. Me personally, I get a Costco battery and change them out every 10 months for free, I’ll be dropping in there soon to get my third battery. Voltage seems to drop quick on these. I want to say off the top of my head it’s an interstate.

I've had mine for over 5-years with no problems, but I keep the cells topped up with distilled water and it sits on a BatteryTender when not in use.

AGM are just a different medium for the same concept. If not cared for it will die also. I killed an AGM battery in my GSXR in less than a year. Come to find out later that my "battery tender" only charges batts to 12.6V, not 12.8 as required for AGM. So I had to go get a Noco charger that could do AGM and maintain it at 12.8. So far so good.

Lead plate batteries will last just as long if they are cared for and not overcharged which will cause boil-off, or left at a state below 12.6V for extended periods of time, which will cause sulfation. That being said, if an AGM battery is toast there is usually no bringing it back. It is possible to desulfate lead plate batts and refill with distilled water but it is still not a great long term solution.

I have not tried them yet, but my dad swears by Costco batteries. I have no idea what brand they make/sell, but he's had pretty good luck with them.

My Everstart has sticker "January 2012". Granted it did not see winters (only California summer) and sub-zero temperatures till 2016. Still cranks solid but I suspect it will die this winter. Last winter in sub-zero temperatures it started the engine but the crank was slow.

The big thing with batteries is temp and how far you drive every day. Hot weather, like In Phoenix, AZ will kill them sooner just as short trip operation, especially in freezing weather, will kill them sooner. I generally get about 6 years out of my batteries but I don't do the short trip stuff and I let my truck idle if I'm just stopping for a few minutes to fuel or run into a convenience store. I put in an Interstate Megatron about 1.5 years ago and keep the water level topped off but I've used different batteries over the years from various companies. I've gotten around 5+ years out of all of them but I've always bought top of the line wherever I buy them be it NAPA, Autozone or anyplace else. This last time it was Big O' out of convenience since my battery was on it's last leg and I was there for an alignment anyway.
