Paid $325 new for my Steyr M9-A1 from CDNN, similar design to the Glock, but better looking, better ergonomics, better grip angle, nicer trigger and easier disassembly. The M9 is the Glock 2.0 that Glock never bought into; instead Steyr bought the design...

Not mine, but mine looks just like it.

    ^ LOL

Why come into a thread saying

What did you pay for your GLOCK

and then say well I paid this X for a different gun? Then talk about how much better it is then the glock.....

Thats all in your opinion.... Everyone has a opinion on which gun is better....

Yep it is my opinion, just saying it it basically a Glock, and it is cheaper by $200+, so you could go buy ~800 rnds of 9mm for that price. I have nothing against Glocks, just dont own one, I own a "clone" that is pretty nice. ;)

OP, what Caliber/Model Glock are you looking for, and what restrictions do you have?

A 10mm, 357 or 45GAP are going to be much harder to find than say a 9mm or .40.

Also since I live in MD I have to deal with high cap laws and pistol/trigger locks, so all the Glocks thatare sold new near me are neutered.

Either way I would go used on a Glock and save the money for mods and work, like a trigger job, night sights, porting, stippling/grip reduction, red dot sight, etc.

I would highly recommend http://www.bowietacticalconcepts.com/, he has done work on a few of my guns and the prices and work are great. And he specializes in Glocks.

    stock, for now
im looking for a 9mm..nothing crazy, just some casual shooting, and maybe carry in the truck if going on an excursion into the woods or something. I called a local place today, but they didnt have it in stock..Gen 3 was aroud 545, gen4 was around 600, IIRC..I really have no restrictions, just no fully automatic war weapon style..Not into that. I'm still learning about handguns, I went to the place last night and asked to see a glock9, dude looked at me funny and looked at the counter..I said what? he said your holding one...Oh, HAHA. I didnt know there was different variations of the glock9..Turned out I was holding the G17, felt nice.

$350 used for a Glock 20 gen 3 .40cal w/ 2 16s 1 10 and 1 22 rd mag. I could not justify spending the money for a new one when there are so many used. Maybe if it were something less common like a s&w bodyguard. I bought my Ruger lcp .380 new for $400 w/ the crimson trace laser guard.

I will occasionally buy a gun new, but it's a rare occurrence and usually because I cannot find what I'm looking for used

Also, check to see if there are any gun stores in the area that sell consignment or used guns

Lots of people buy Glocks because they have a fantastic reputation, but they don't fit everyone's hands...and lots of people turn around and sell them for something that fits better...

Hold out for a better price and make sure you like the way it fits your hand before purchase

Yeah you can get the full size Glock 17, the compact Glock 19, the subcompact Glock 26, the full size Glock 17L (long slide) and the Glock 34 which is the competition model. And they are all in 9x19mm. Oh and don't forget the Glock 18C the full auto compensated model. And You can also get most of the above Glocks in "C" aka compensated models with a top ported slide and barrel.

All good choices, but for you needs a standard Glock 17 will do just fine, unless you have smaller hands and then a Glock 19 might be better, but the shorter barrel and lighter weight may not be the best for casual shooting. AimSurplus has police turn ins every so often, right now they have mostly .40 cal Glocks, and the last 2 times they had 17s and 19s they went before I even got their automated email.

CDNN.com has good prices, they currently have G22 (full size frame in .40 S&W) Gen 3 Trade Ins for $370, a used G17 should be worth just a little less than that, as a point of reference.

ETA: Agree with tigerfan00 above, make sure you like the grip before you buy, I think Glocks are great guns, but I think their grip is about as comfortable as a brick with itching powder on it, so I don't own one. But many people do like the grip; it is a personal thing. You can also stipple the grip or have one of the many custom shops to grip reduction after the fact, which works but costs time and money, but makes a good Glock into a perfect Glock.
