    So I love EBC green stuff brakes for my front brake pads and my truck stops just fine,
    But what is a high performance brake shoe for the rear that’s an upgrade from stock shoes that’s you guys might suggest?

    Results may differ, but it will be a cold day in hell before I ever use another aftermarket rear brake shoe. The Centric shoes I tried to use last year would bind, drag and cause all kinds of assaches. I installed genuine Toyota shoes and no problems.

    I found out later that the e-brake lever pin bosses that are pressed into the shoe were pressed in bent. Nothing but the finest quality control from Centric

    I have this strange feeling that a lot of parts house shit like Centric is stamped in the same factory. I can't imagine it being cost effective for multiple suppliers to each have jigs to build this stuff

    I have had good luck With the Napa Ultra Premium Line of Brake Products .

    It all depends on your driving style .

    I'm still running the original OEM shoes on my ~130k mile '04 doublecab. Rear brakes on pickup trucks hardly see any use unless you constantly have the bed loaded down with heavy gear.

    Your mileage may vary, but I honestly wouldn't throw a bunch of money at your rear brakes with "high performance" shoes...

    I think that has more to do with the fact that rear drums in an unloaded pickup truck hardly get used at all, vs. the brand...

    true that... not sure why you'd need "performance rear brakes" when you could make the ass end lock up just by fred-flinstoning it.

    Haha, well this is my issue, I can lock up my front wheels if needed Pretty easy, but not the rear.
    Believe this, I have original rear pads still at 565,000 miles and even had the dealer check them out
    to make sure they are working correctly which they are so the dealer says.
    But REALLY if the pads are still good at 565,000 I would say something is wrong and maybe need different shoes.
    So hopefully that there were some stickier type pads out there
    The fronts on the other hand I go through every 65,000

    I'm on my original rear but 4th set of fronts at 159k (lots of hills and Stop'n'Go traffic). so your rear shoes are kind of on par

    if I slam the brakes, yeah, but the e-brake hold no problem

    I only towed occasionally, and the bed is mostly empty now, shell off in summer

    Maybe mine are hardered over the years or miles, I think I will just get new OEM ones and turn the drums then
