I'm in need of some bucket seats for my 04..Now I have some wet okiee seat covers on now but the seats are pretty beat down an just not comfortable anymore..My question is are there any seats that fit well without TOO MUCH modification such as Subaru or other Toyota models..I don't mind a little bracket mods but I basically don't want to start from scratch...

Unless you want to shell out big $$$ for Corbeau racing seats with their custom fit brackets, you'll need to do a LOT of modification and/or fabrication with the brackets. The closest fit would be the 3rd gen 4Runner seats, but only 3 bolts line up and will require drilling into the cab for an anchor point.

What I've seen people do is chop the existing seat brackets off the factory seats, and grind/weld them to seats from a different vehicle.

How much $ are you talking for aftermarket seats? Strongly considering going back to a first gen

    Don't like the F150?

Decent direct bolt-on Corbeau racing seats are usually around a $1000 for a set with brackets, give or take depending on the seats that you want.

Does anyone know if bucket seats from an 01-04 Taco would fit in my 98 with the 60/40 bench?

They should. The holes may/or may not be drilled though. Bench seat swap is super common so you shouldn't run into any problems.

I swapped the 2001-2004 center console to replace my '98 console and the rear bracket holes were not drilled, but the little indentations/divots where the holes would be were present.

Love the F150, it's such a nice truck and it's been problem free (although it's only 2 years old). I however need a new SUV for the wife (found out she was pregnant 3 months after our son was born) and I don't like the idea of 2 car notes.

My 2nd gen taco was reliable but just never truly loved it. I loved my first gen and miss the little truck feel it had. I just want nicer seats up front.

Sorry for the thread jack and thanks for the reply.

LG1 corbeau seats or Baha seats for 800.00, slider brackets 200.00, if you have the extra money they are fantastic and install is 60 minutes, EASY
or just get used 4 runner seats and modify the one front leg,
But remember with used seats your still dealing with a seat that's 10 years or more old and that means old tired foam and fabric

That's quite a lot to spend...$1000 on seats
that fit into a $5000 vehicle.

I just put limited 4Runner seats in when I decided to swap. Works nicely and doesn't break the bank. Although when I don't have to sit in it for long periods of time I'll put in Sparcos. Only a year or so from being a wheeler only.

The runner seats were easy to fit in and since I have a welder I could make them fit perfectly.

Well if you drive as many miles as I do, 520,000 in this truck, A nice set of seats is more than worth it,
But like I said the 4 runner seats that I had are a great seat for the money of 100 or 200 for a set. A lot of money is a new Tacoma for 40,000.00 that will just go down in value with every mile, while our Tacoma trucks stay the same give or take
    even with tons of miles.

I found a set of 4Runner seats locally I thought about buying, but they have power adjustments. Anyone wire up these to work in a 1st gen Tacoma? My truck doesn't power anything right now

You can wire it in pretty easily, the controls are contained in the seats should be a matter of a couple positives and a ground.

I may look into that. I have some wet ok's on my current seats that made them better but they're still rough after a while tho
