I used Rustoleum primer as the base and did 4 coats or so. I painted my sliders with standard issue Rustolem Gloss Black enamel. I didn't want to go with anything too fancy or hard to find since they need touchups.

3M Grip tape on top so they can safely be used as steps :D

I have used frame paint before, but any enamle paint would be best. I would primer it all with rustolium primer then paint.

I primed mine, then 3 or 4 coats of rustoleum spray on bedliner, then 2 or 3 coats of RO semi gloss black.

For the stuff that doesn't see any abuse and won't need touch ups I use the 3 part POR15 process deal just to do it and forget about it. Stuff that takes abuse I just use Rustoleum

I used my grinder and wire wheeled everything i could get to. Then used some 80 grit and got in to the crooks n nannies. Then acetone wiped everything twice. Then self etching primer, 2 or 3 coats, then bedliner, then semi gloss black topcoat

I didn't use any. Edit: as already stated, angle grinder + wire wheel is the way to go for metal prep. If you try and use sandpaper you'll hate everything lol
