Those of you that have a truck on hold or reservation at Crown Toyota in Ontario CA. They were just sold to another auto group, make sure to bug them and make sure MSRP is still the deal.

Crown Toyota is going through a changeover and will be joining the other price gougers. You will have to pay around a 2,000 uncharge for the paint coating whether you want it or not. I guess Longo Toyota is the last bastion of hope now in SoCal.

Crown was acquired by Swickard auto group.
They tacked on 1500 of paint protection on my “new” quote.

When I got my 2020, every dealer in DFW added paint protect, tint, nitrogen, wheel locks, pin stripe, etc. Around $1,500 in extras.
I ended up going to a 'rural' dealership about 100 miles away that had none of that crap.
    Thank you internet!!!

I was picking up our new lime 4runner pro today. I asked what’s hot what’s not. He said there’s a huge allocation of tacomas coming. They have seen a lot of access cabs recently because Toyota is trying to rid of all the parts and inventory before they new model comes out so there was a run on them recently. He said to expect prices to be dropping. So under msrp should be possible at most places. Don’t let them tell you otherwise. That being said he still expects them to be sold by time they hit the lots. They had a lot more used cars in stock quite a few bmws and higher end. I’ve watched sequoia pro marked down from 70k to 62k in 3 weeks.

Just reserved my 22 SR V6 4x4 MGM SX Package. Dealer prices are finally coming down. Paid a purchase price of $33102 and total out the door cost was $34166.49, plus I get the college discount so really $500 less than that. 48 month financing at 2.49%.

Got my 2022 DC/LB SR5 for sticker. Dealer was asking $2500 over. Truck was on the lot and I told them for sticker I'd come down and see what they'd do on my trade. I was happy with the trade number they gave me (only $4000 less than what I paid for my 2015 Ram 4 years and 30K miles ago) which was $1500 better than the other dealer I was at so I took the deal.

Hi Folks. I looked at a used (lease return) 2022 Taco SR5 V6 4x4 long bed this weekend. The truck has 16K miles on it, but for all intents and purposes, looks and drives like a new truck. The dealer is asking 39,965 + 1295 for "lifetime tint and One Armor paint protection". They quoted me a price out the door of $46,645 (with all of their BS dealer fees, etc in it). I offered them $43000 out the door and they declined, so that is where the conversation ended. I built the same truck, in a 2023 model on the Toyota site and the MSRP is very close to what the dealer is asking for the used 2022. I did hear back from the dealer (email) and said they talked with a "different manager" and he'd like to talk to me about the 2022. Since the 2022 is basically exactly the truck I'm looking for, I am tempted to buy it if and only if they would agree to the out the door price I offered. I am hoping to get some opinions from those of you who have been through the buying exercise already. I know things are tough right now and the Tacoma is a highly sought after vehicle. I'm afraid if I wait for a new truck equipped similarly to the 2022 I may never get it. Thanks.

    Jim

Go new it’ll get there eventually. I’m seeing quite a few tacomas showing up unclaimed or with no waitlist out here in AZ. Most are access cabs or long beds. May as well get a 2023 and pay a lower interest rate and not worry about what may have happened to this one. Seems a bit weird someone would put 16k miles on a lease in a year. Usually if you are leasing you aren’t planning on driving that much.

I just bought a 2023 TRD Sport for 1K more out the door than the other guys wanted for the 2022. Bought from Surprise Toyota, Surprise, AZ. Kyle Purcell. Real nice guy to deal with. No BS!

I would keep waiting. The correction will come eventually. Looks like sooner than later for the car industry. Repos are ticking up as people are defaulting. Should be an interesting 12 months.

I just picked up a 2022 MGM at MSRP. Dealership had already listed 2023 models on Smartpath with $2,000 markup, but this 2022 randomly appeared at MSRP only and I jumped on it. Paid deposit, and truck was delivered in roughly a month.
