I pay a shit ton less than you. Why? Because I am 59, no citations or accidents and a different company.
You can't realistically ask the question you asked because we are totally different. I also live in a different geographic area than you. Prices will be wildly different. But, I pay less than half what you pay.

Different companies have different claim statistics based on your zip/age/vehicle etc. This is why I shop every 3-5 years because statistics are always changing. Allstate used to be really cheap then almost doubled overnight. When I called they said that my car had a very high loss rate so I called USAA and saved about 600 dollars a year. I asked USAA about my vehicle and they said the claims were low.

    Way too many variables...

I think its funny when people say "full coverage" as that can mean many different things in different states, zips, etc.

Technically, full coverage isnt just for the vehicle. Its for your NET WORTH.

Im not going to explain it here, but do some research on how insurance coverage actually works and you will see that "full coverage" is just a misnomer.

Umbrella policies are a must have IMO.

Of the people reporting the insane rate increases, was your renewal rate beginning this month? I started with Geico at the end of December and now you have me nervous when it's time for my 6 month renewal it will get crazy like what is being reported here.

full coverage usually means "i got the insurance the bank required me to take for the loan" If your insurance is too low at time of purchase, the lienholder will raise it for you before your first payment. at least toyota did..
reading around the forums it seems like the tacoma gets put in the 'totaled' category pretty quickly, getting rear ended with our bare assed bumpers is popular, T boned is another.
Any claims no matter how small will bump your rates but nothing like having a zip code with your make of car being the popular theft of choice.
Uninsured driver insurance premiums also go up if your general area of travel has high hit and run rates...which these days is everywhere..

It's not just about net worth. It's about how much of that net worth is exposed. If the bulk of it is in categories that are protected against judgement by your state law then an umbrella policy could be a waste of money.

A public forum with random strangers living in multiple places and all the other variables should not cause you panic. How much you may (or may not) be impacted will be based on your personal variables

Again I'll suggest finding an independent agent who writes multiple A+ rated lines and let them do the legwork.

Too many folks think Flo, the lizard, Mayhem and Jake are the only choices, and they can do everything online.

Sometimes. But only IF you have assets to be sued for above the value of your policy. And an umbrella will require your auto policy to be at $500k just to write.

My question is it for the same coverage? If you had for sake of argument
300/500 with glass and now your state is 100/300 no glass minimum it will be less insurance is risk protection so whatever your comfortable with. Isn’t the hope is we don’t need to collect on an insurance policy.

    quick stat
CARFAX estimates the widespread flooding across Florida and the Carolinas in the wake of Hurricane Ian potentially damaged as many as 358,000 vehicles. That number is on top of the 400,000 water-damaged cars that CARFAX data shows were already on the road in 2022 - before Hurricane Ian first made landfall.

Think about the payout to the insured

I pay 896 a year for the Tacoma and Ascent - full coverage, 1K deductible. Wisconsin. Paid in full annually is a 20-25% discount.

$182 for 6 months, $2k deductible, bundled with Rav4 Hybrid and our house, using Drive Safe and Save program through State Farm. I'm 35, and really only drive my truck to work and around town, Hybrid is for any significant distances. The Drive Safe program allows about 7 or 8 mph over the speed limit, so I try to pay attention to my speed.

$1,015 a year, just for the Tacoma. I get a discount from State Farm because of multiple vehicles insured with them, plus the homeowner's insurance.

$1107 every 6 months for my 2019 Tacoma, 2003 Corolla, and 1984 F150. Full coverage on the Tacoma and Corolla with $500 deductibles. Saved about $300 every 6 months compared to Progressive. Plus, the customer service with State Farm is outstanding compared to Progressive, and there’s a local office about 15 minutes from my house where my agent physically works out of.
