I've read mixed opinions on what spark plugs are OEM on 3rd gens. I have a 2017 SR5 V6 2wd and my nearest dealer says it's part 90919-01263, which is $12-15 each. Ive seen YouTube videos of guys putting in Denso 4705's, which I ordered assuming they were OEM, but apparently they are not.

Those are what I put in and they matched OEM. 17’ 4x4

The factory Toyota part number is what you listed and to me is the safest bet to get the exact OEM part. You could also use the Denso part number but I feel better knowing Toyota had it put in a Toyota box. No clue on spark plugs specifically but being the official part can sometimes mean it passed some sort of additional quality control or similar. So I like to order the part through dealers.

I wouldn't have a problem with getting the correct number plugs from a reputable source like a parts store or rock auto but yea don't get them from Amazon/ebay, too many counterfeits on there and it's really hard to tell the difference.

Owner's manual calls for Denso FK20HBR8 or SKU 3491: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=5706984&jsn=266

90919-01263 is the Toyota P/N, same thing.

    Yes it's an expensive plug.

4705 will fit and function, but starts with a .040" gap (owner's manual says .031"), so it probably won't last the whole 60k mile change interval: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=6276825&cc=3354143&pt=7212&jsn=436&optionchoice=0-0-0-1

I tend to agree with that assessment. I don’t ever buy stuff like that from Amazon, way too many fakes. RockAuto is good. Parts store are usually expensive enough for their convenience that it doesn’t usually make sense for me to go there, and I want to say I was buying other stuff and so it actually worked out cheaper at BAM than it did at RockAuto because of the additional RA shipping.

Although I do still like to order the OEM anyways, if it isn’t too expensive. I guess I think back to things like ignition coils. The stock coils from Denso don’t have the little Toyota stamp or whatever, whereas the ones from the dealer do. Who knows if Toyota only put the marking on them, or maybe they did additional quality control checking? Or maybe Denso more thoroughly checks the quality of ones headed to Toyota vs the ones headed to stores? Not sure, it’s just something in my head that makes me feel a bit better to think I got it from the Toyota parts network.

I used Denso iridium TT plugs and gapped them to spec. They come .40
