What are the most common bolt sizes in a Tacoma?

I want to put together an emergency tool kit. What are some of if not all of the common bolt sizes?

 

Uhhhh.....for what?

Just get a reasonable set of metric and and standard. 3/8ths drive. Couple ratchet extensions. Couple screwdrivers. Reasonably sized crescent wrench. Pliers. Knife. Tape.

 

I run across 10mm and 14mm a lot for little things. For suspension stuff it's mostly 17mm and 19mm. The differential drain and fill plugs are either 21mm or 24mm if I remember right. I think the front differential plug is still a 10mm hex.

 

My bumper was 10,12,14,17

 

It's always the one size you just happen to NOT have when you need it! J/k, I just keep a small sae and metric kit in a cubby.

 

I think of it like a boat. The day you start wrenching on it on the water, probably time to get rid of it.

I read your post wrong I thought your post was for your tacoma. (Stupid me) Then I thought to myself "toyotas don't break! He meant tools for everyone else." I would buy the biggest sae set you can find.

 

Just carry a metric crescent and you'll be good...

 

All you guys mentioning SAE. Where are the SAE bolts on our trucks?

Well, that just goes without saying...

 

So if you have KbrO2s you shouldn't need any tools. There's usually a mechanic's place somewhere near the mall parking lot.
