Ive looked into headers, cat back exhaust, chip, supercharger, intake spacer, air flow. Are there any tips on increasing this engines power? Interested in preferred brands and opinions.
    Thanks!

You've pretty much got it. I've heard performance gains from headers, supercharger and turbo. Everything else either is snake oil, or won't make a difference till you supercharge it/ turbo it.

LCE Engineering header and a tune up. Don't get a CAI... they're mostly actually hot air intakes and will decrease your power. You can open it up intake and out, but the header will be the biggest and probably only notable gain/difference.

The URD supercharger kit is supposedly the best, however 4.5k is a bit steep. There is a coupon for tacomaworld members though. "ForumMember" I believe. It's about 235$ off

Don't thank me til you check that the code still works:fingerscrossed: also if you call them, I've heard they are great service and may also give you a discount if you ask. Just a guess though.

Ozzie's taco on YouTube is a good resource. I think he said 230 ish wheel with a stage 1 pully? The urd says 250 with a stage 2 pully wheel hp. Considering the stock motor makes 159 crank, that's not half bad.
I would love to a Dyno sheet of a stock 2.7 that would be hilarious

Oh, and ov tune is hopefully coming out with something for the 2nd gens, and maybe 3rd gen 2.7? Not sure though, it's buried in some ov tune thread.

I had an air intake on my ‘99 4 banger Tacoma before my ‘14. It did add noticeable HP and loved the sound. I changed it out for stock every time I got a smog test and I could definitely feel a change in power. Just my experience !

The 2nd gen 2.7 had a giant airbox that goes into the outside fender, I believe that counts as a cold air intake. I've heard, not from experience, that the 2nd gen doesn't benefit from a relocated airbox as much as other vehicles. Urd kit is compatible with stock airbox, and Ozzie's Tacoma on youtube uses it. Remember it's up to you if you want to try.

The stock intake will definitely flow cooler air, but an aftermarket one will flow more air. I ran an aftermarket aFe for a while when i was n/a still and it make a good difference in usable power. LCE header is also a nice upgrade

Here's a link with a few things ive put together. I am running the URD kit and it's the best thing ive done to the truck so far for performance.

I believe the @OVTune self user tunable files are available. That requires contacting them though for specifics. Definitely worthy for improving the tuning over stock and for aftermarket upgrades.

    Whether turbo or s/c.

Regear. I just went from stock 3.73 to 4.56 in my 4.0 6m with 34x10.5r17s and the difference in acceleration is dramatically improved. I feel silly i didn't do it years ago.

If you've got a 4 banger, turbo all the way. I almost wish my pickup was a 4 cylinder for this reason alone.
