What’s this electrical thing? Scion xD

Changing the oil in my wife’s 2011 Scion xD, battery terminals need deox and after I pulled the battery I saw this thing nearby that used to be attached. Does anyone know what it is and where to put it?

Perhaps it’s related to the aftermarket remote start? Gonna chase/probe the wires a little more sometime soon. I can’t imagine a self tapping screw is from the factory…

 

It’s a hood switch

 

It would be the strangest switch I’ve encountered haha. Any idea where it mounts?

 

Aftermarket/added on accessory power wire for a remote start, stereo or something like that. Whatever it is it's not factory, the zip tie gives it away..

Follow the wire, it probably goes under the dash to something purchased at Car Toys

 

Likely the aftermarket remote start then, the car is bone stock apart from that. Now to find where they fastened that screw…
