Good luck. Post up the progress and final. As I mentioned my application is infrequent use. My primary off-road site has local air. I actually use it more at the lake to inflate SUPs, bikes and crap! But I have used it to air up and was satisfied. I saved my money for other toys.

I bet if you calculate the draw and distance you won’t find anything anywhere big enough to tap.

I have the ARB dual high output compressor installed under my hood to activate my lockers and air up my tires.

I think ARB are the best if you're going "on board" IMO.

Smittybilt under the hood, with the connection and switch in the wheel well. Does 5.6 cfm, so fills each 33 from 15-32psi in about a minute and a half. Pretty cheap aswell, and got a 4wp warranty so if it ever blows up I get a new one.20210403_184146.jpg 20210403_155021.jpg

Expedition Essentials also sells a version for the right cubbyhole box that retains the inverter

I love the bed install but it limits bed drawer choices. 2020 SR5 dose not have the drivers side bed cubby only passenger, so a mod would be needed for mine at leaset.

I have an Ironman4x4 1300 mm drawer on the way.... from what I've seen online, this will work perfect with enough space on both sides to access the cubbyholes. I will be building floor extensions to extend the top floor to the bed wall for a seamless look

Besides the arb dual obviously having more output than the single, there is also a redundancy aspect to it. The dual is essentially two single compressors mounted to a manifold, so if/when you may have a mechanical issue it’s possible to continue use at half capacity in an emergency.

Like it. Do you find the connection point for the hose gets crud on it from the tire?

I have a viair 10003 kit on my 2020 so theres no storage bin on the driver side bed. I bought the viair bracket 95900 and bolted it to the side of the bed, with the compressor between the bed and the quarter panel. I cut down some sheet metal to use as a backing plate and bolt/nut the bracket to the bed. The tank is mounted under the bed, forward of the spare tire. I don't think the rear end will hit the tank.

What did you do for power?
Pull a line straight from the battery?
Was it a kit with harness or did you have to DIY a wiring package up?

I used the ARB harness that the compressor came with plus this kit from EE...... almost plug and play for me except for the switch which I wanted in the bed and not the cab

If you want your compressor to live a long life, don't mount it under the hood.
