I should have stated that better. The area, not the jars, played a big role during the war. And it was the VietNam War I was talking about. Most of the other wars that Laos went through were principally along the borders. Siam was prolly their most frequent opponent. The PDJ is north central and not too close to any border.

The 2000+ year old jars just sit there causing mystery theories. No one uses them. (Although, because that area of Laos took hit after hit (many tons) of bombs - I could definitely see an enemy soldier using a jar as a "bunker".)

I remember the most popular theory being tossed around when I was there, was that the jars were burial urns. Hopefully they were used for whole families (maybe not all at once) because of their size. Countless other speculation is out there, I'm sure. Too extravagant to be used for food storage, in my opinion. We called them the "Stone Henge of Laos", but truly not at that same level, not quite so baffling as the one in England. Plus there is little doubt that the Lao used elephants for this h-e-a-v-y work. Stone Henge builders in the UK didn't have that luxury. :)

Oh yeah, forgot to say, they did find stone lids for the jars. Not sure if every style had one.

while out in the woods. met a friend who wanted to see bison and Imperial point. We met and camped in NAZ.
while out looking around (of course without my phone) I found what looked like a command bunker. big hole with
a cut coming in. just needed logs and sandbags. but anyway the trees gowing in and on it looked to be 60 or 70
or so old. So it cut out of the rock in the 1950's or 60s. I have found some minerals and stuff in the area which
a friend who worked for a large mining company were interested in, except for the distance from everything. It
looks like copper or maybe some yellow cake (uranium). I took some samples and just need to find someone
with a Gieger counter to check. anyone with some ideas ????thumbnail.jpg thumbnail (3).jpg

Went out for a quick trip in my favorite camping area. It is littered with old mines.

Considering the sign, and his property is VERY....VERY remote, he has made an effort to keep away from people. I'm sure there is a good reason, and I am not gonna be the guy who finds out what that reason is.

Played Wile E. Coyote to a roadrunner. Walked up a drainage ditch to get into my park for a hike. The road runner was in the ditch as well and moved away from me as I approached the park until I walked past it. BTW: they do NOT sound like "beep beep".

At first I thought this was a step by step on how to make a cat sized pitfall.

Exploring some woods adjacent to the dead end of a forest road at 6300 ft. in the Cascade Mts., found this.

Have I stumbled upon the legendary "Lost Outhouse" of Cascades lore?

Visiting some family in Brisbane, CA the past couple of weeks. Lots of broken glass and pottery surfaces in the backyard after it rains. This was found today. Google image search says maybe a military badge of sorts. Appears to be two cannons with a cannon ball. House was built in the 1920s. :notsure:

Not in the woods, but interesting nonetheless.

ok this is a rabbit not a big mouse. You may have to zoom in to see its ears or lack of.
In my neck of the woods it could be a skinwalker since they must retain some of their human form.
