Where do you think the best place to mount a WeBoost antenna is? I bought a mount for the back of the truck but am worried about it whipping around like my CB antenna did on my Jeep. Was thinking of going on the roof rack like Mike from LLOD did. Thoughts? Drew my options in orange.

I too am looking at those two mounting locations for my weboost, I'm leaning more towards the roof rack mount and towards the front. The rear location seems like a better spot for a CB antenna and the weeboost may get in the way of a rooftop tent in the rear if one is ever mounted. Just my thoughts though, like I said I'm trying to decided this very same thing. Did you end up choosing a spot? if so where and why if you don't mind

If performance matters then mount to roof center where it will have a metal ground plane.

LLOD, Mike had a clean install that collapsed as needed if I recall. I’d give that a try. Less wire to run too?

I ended up mounting mine to the roof rack on the rear passenger side. Like Mike from LLOD with some ram balls and a mount. Works super well. Ran the wire up front and down the groove between the windshield and A Frame. Was super tight getting it down there but it's super clean now. I was going to but it in the back like my picture but for some reason my topper very slowly likes to slide back. It's really annoying.

Ive been thinking of doing the same. Do you have any pics of how you mounted it? And are you saying you just pulled up the stock windshield gasket and tucked the wire in?

I also mounted mine on the passenger side roof. Waiting to put on a RhinoRack Aerial bracket when I get time so it can swing down 90 degrees and be below my gun cases for clearance

Looks solid man. I have been trying to figure mine out as well. Wanted to do something similar to Mike with it adjustable to lay flat when needed with RAM mounts. Haven’t been able to find/figure out the exact hardware and RAM configuration to do so. Any details you could share or close up pics of it attached to the Prinsu? Thanks for the help!

If you're asking me, I ended up getting the newer version antenna that WeBoost came out with... it now sits only 3 inches above my roof gun cases so I didn't get swinging mount. You could look into the RhinoRack Aerial Folding Bracket however. Seems fairly straight forward

Do you mind if I ask which Weboost model you purchased? Without the swinging mount, are you not able to fold it to lay flat?

Mine is up on the rack as high as possible within reason. I'm on my second mount, I have not been able to find a mount that fits my needs. I need the mount to found back down flat with the cab and then 90 degrees in order to lock it into a Rhino Grip for daily driving.

I bought the Drive Reach OTR Fleet one for multiple users. When I bought it, it came with their older style antenna, but it looks like the kit now comes with the one I have currently on the truck. Both are linked below. As for the mount, I mounted it as low as I can go on the rear most bar of my prinsu rack. The antenna only sits a couple inches above the gun mount I always have on my truck so I'm not worried about it hitting anything. It's also still on the supplied spring so it goes have some give to it, it anything does run into it.

Off topic, how to do you mount your spare tire in your bed?

since i sometimes carry a camper that goes over most of the roof i placed it on the front bumper.
Probably not getting the most i can out of it but it still makes a huge difference when signal is weak

I tried the ram ball setup for quite a while beforehand and it was only so-so for me. No matter how hard it was hand tightened there was still some laxity so I felt the need to secure the antenna with a strap when it was lying flat. It was fine when upright for driving on trails but it wouldn't hold up great going up to higher speeds on the street.

Eventually I bit the bullet and ordered the stupidly expensive Rhino Rack antenna mount for my weboost antenna. I've been running it for around a year and it has been excellent, actually recently bought a second one for another antenna. I have to admit it works really well, easy to mount to my Prinsu rack with minor modification, folds to multiple angles including the 90 degrees I usually secure it at. I know FrontRunner makes a different version that rotates more like the hands of a clock, depending on which way you want the antenna to fold down. I haven't looked at the mounting points for that one but I'm sure anything can be modified to work on non-Frontrunner racks.

Reviving old thread - has anyone now bought the Overland mount that weboost now sells that rotates similar to other antenna mounts? I bought the mount, but as others have found, the t-slot plates are too wide for a Prinsu. Anyone have a good part number for good t-slot plates so I can mount it properly without having to return this and get another brand? :)
