    Hi all -

Has anyone out there installed WeatherTech windows deflectors on a 2020 double cab Tacoma?

I bought a pair, and for the life of me I can not get the rear ones to install with those silly clips they send. I've installed these on like 3 trucks I've had, but this is the first time on a Tacoma.

I get the clips in the channel, it looks just like their install video. But after installing the deflector, I can just reach up and pull the deflector out.

After 3 calls with WT, sending them pictures, etc. I finally just gave up and bought a set of the AVS in-channels that have mounting tape. I'd really like to get the WT ones installed instead of the AVS, so I thought I'd take a shot and see if anyone else out there has had success/failure with the WeatherTech ones.

    thanks!

I had the same trouble installing them on a Ford F-150, clips wouldn’t work. I installed 3m tape and it held them in place much better.

They used to come with double sided tape but for some stupid reason switched to those useless clips

You're right. The clips barely hold them and I can pull mine out too, but I've never had any issue with them moving around (unless I tug on them). My bigger complaint was the weather strip above the clip bulging out a little...

Following. Just tried to install mine yesterday and had the exact some issue. I'm thinking about getting some tape to try to get it to install and hold...or just send them back.

I have them on mine - all 4 went in easily and securely. No problems with the clips at all.

How did you get them to stay and securely fit in place? From what I've read on forums...many people are having issues with these on their 2020s and being able to easily pull the deflectors out of place.

They're not designed to permanently lock in place. If I pull straight down on the rears I can remove them....isn't that what you want to be able to do? They are snugly in place that the wind doesn't move them, they don't make noise or slip.

I guess I'm just not seeing the problem.

I think maybe it's how easy they pull out. I guess I need to just keep them in and see. Not that I'm in my back seat and roll down the back windows much. Just feels like they would fall out with the windows down.

If I remember correctly, the instructions tell you to keep the windows closed for a number of hours (24?) to let the windscreens settle in. Since I live in the northeast, other than to test that they properly close, my windows have been up over a month since I put the screens in. Maybe that's why mine seem fine. I'm not saying to keep your windows up for a month, but the screens do need time to settle in and keeping the windows closed for a day or so should help, IMHO.

Has anyone experienced any kind of excess wind noise from them by any chance?

I definitely have wind noise from mine... but I expected that. However, when I turn my radio volume up I don't hear it lol.
