I've read some posts of people having Weathertech Stone & Bug Deflector or the Weathertech Hood Protector installed on their trucks but don't really see any real life comparisons.

My new truck 'should' be here in a couple.of weeks and I've decided I would like a bit of protection. I have ruled out the wrap protection offered by the dealer or third parties mainly because where I live, stone chips really are not an issue. Yes, they can happen but my current vehicle has only had one meaningful over the last 4 years.

Weathertech quality is why I'm leaning towards them. I do prefer the low profile look of the Weathertech Hood Deflector but I suppose I'm hesitant on sticking it to the actual hood and what could come of that process down the road? And for that one meaningful stone chip I'm going to get (just jinxed myself I'm sure), is the Weathertech Stone & Bug Deflector the real saviour in the end?

    Thought? Experiences?

Have had mine on for about a year, I would say definitely worth it. I didn't want one that adheres to the hood using 3M, the weather tech deflector mounts to existing holes on the bottom of the hood and does not contact the top of the hood at all. I noticed quite a few rock chips on the hood before installing and since putting the deflector on I haven't seen one anywhere on the hood. I also like how it covers the tops of the front fenders above the headlights aswell. I'm happy with the purchase.

I’ve always used AVS on my vehicles. No issues with quality at all.

I do have the Avs Bugdeflector 2 and it works pretty good. I still get bugs hitting the top part of my windshield though. Did not have a rock hit my windshield since I installed it. Before the Bugdeflector, I had to replace my original windshield and now my 2nd one is cracked as well.

I had a Bugdeflector on my previous truck and never had a rock crack my windshield.

Hood protector will only protect your hood and not the windshield. Bugdeflector does both.

    Hops that helps.
