Added the Weathertech floor mats to the Tacoma today and was a little concerned how the mats would be with my vinyl floor. I added them to the front and back.

Weathertech (and Husky I believe) indicates their mats do not work with the vinyl floor as the mats were made to be placed on carpet. Sliding and excessive movement are probably the concern along with liability.

After the install, it's better than I expected. I expected a lot more movement of the mats. While I haven't gone in and out much, I don't find the front mats to move. I think what helps a lot are the two floor mat retainers. This for the front driver and passenger mats.

For the rear, the outward ends of the mats move a bit, but nothing much of concern at the moment. What helps keep the mat in place is that the mat is one piece, extending from the rear driver's side to the rear passenger side. The fit is snug and prevents any excessive movement.

To address the rear mats, I'm likely going to use some velcro to stick it to the floor better. I may do that to the front too just because.

I didn't find much info on people getting the Weathertechs with their vinyl floors. I think most would assume that they don't really need.

Anyways, here's some pictures of it installed.

In going on some trails the other weekend, it got pretty muddy and going in and out of the truck caused a lot of mud to get in the truck. While vinyl is easier to clean than carpet in these instances, it still sucked cleaning the floor. Having had Weathertechs before, I know how much easier it is to just pull the mats and clean.

Anyways, more of an FYI for those curious.

Thanks for posting those pics. Very useful.

I know this is an old thread, but having a vinyl floor myself and also looking at the weathertech mats, how have they held up over the years? Any slipping? Thanks for any info you might have.

I know this is an old thread, but I just ordered the Husky Weatherbeater floor mats for my 2012 DCSB OR factory vinyl floorboard and immediately can tell they are not a good fit without having to Velcro/tape them to the floor. I contacted Weathertech and they advised against using any of their mats for vinyl flooring. Will be returning the Husky liners and may order the X-act contour and or OEM all weather mats and see which work best. If anyone has any updates, recommendations or hacks they wanna share, it would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry, 3+ years late on reply. I don't get notified of thread responses since I don't Watch this thread. Probably best to quote me or tag me.

Yes, I do have the OEM vinyl flooring.

After using my Weathertechs now for over 3 years, they've held up great and perform well on the vinyl. No issues whatsoever with movement or sliding with the front. I don't sit in the back seat, but for my passengers who do, it's been working out good. No issues.

It's the mat retainers for the front mats that keep things from sliding, along with the contoured fit.
Also, I never ended up placing velcro for the rear mats.

My truck is a daily driver and I off-road very often on the weekends in rocky, sandy, and muddy terrain. Getting in and out has been no issue and no sliding or movement of the mats. Removal and cleaning has been easy and no different than with carpet.
