Looks like Weathertech has updated their floor liners with the HP line. Has anyone here seen or bought these yet? Wondering what the coverage is like compared to the regular (old?) style. I was leaning towards the Husky X-act Contour for the extra coverage over the dead pedal and up behind the pedals. Wondering if the new HP's will be similar.

I have WT in my Lexus SUV. Sent them back twice because they left a 1” gap when they said they would fit perfectly. Went with Husky X-acts for my Tacoma and way better fit than WT.

So are those the Weathertech HP or the older style?

I’ve had them a few years. They were their high end when I bought them. They definitely have some QC issues. All three sets i got were the same. I took pics and sent them and they said they should fit tighter. I finally keep the third set because i was tired of messing with it.

So just to be clear, I'm not talking about the original Weathertech floor liner. It appears they released a new line called HP this year that is supposed to be softer and offer more coverage than the older style (which looks like it will be sold alongside this new version).

I just looked them up. They look interesting. You should order a set and review them for us and include pics.

Alright, so I did end up buying them back in November, I intended to upload pictures and just forgot I guess! I have been happy them, the fit is very good (I've never owned WeatherTech, Husky, or any other custom fit mats before). I was hoping the dead pedal would be fully covered, and it isn't, as you can see in the picture. It actually hasn't been a big deal though as my foot never sits that high up. They were $325 CDN shipped right from WeatherTech. 20201216_093344.jpg 20201216_100947.jpg 20201216_100803.jpg 20201216_093607.jpg20201216_100837.jpg

They look great! Thanks for coming back to the thread and posting some pics. However, could I bother you for a pic of the passenger side, please? I am very interested in that fitment because A) the fitment of the factory all-weathers is atrocious so this would be a great comparison, B) the area where the mat meets the inside-bottom apron(?) is reported to have a gap with the original WeatherTechs. Hoping the fitment of the HPs is spot-on and tight.

One thing I do like so far is the omission of the WeatherTech puffy sticker. Good riddance.

EDIT: Also, I see you have a 2020 so you have the mat clips on the passenger side; an egregious error by Toyota to not include them on model years 2016-2017. I think the BIG selling point of the HPs is that the bottom of the mats have spikes as opposed to being smooth as a baby's ass like the original WeatherTechs. If so, then I am 100% in. Just debating to buy them for a 2018 Tacoma vs. my model year of 2017 so I can put in my own carpet clips for extra holding power.

I've had weather tech and the husky exact fit. The husky is nicer in my opinion

looking at getting these mats. I have original weather tech’s in my 05 Tacoma and I like how they come up the transmission hump a lot higher than the husky’s. I have husky’s in the front of my 2020 tundra and that’s my main complaint, on the trans hump next to the gas pedal it doesn’t come up very high and when wearing my Dunlop boots for work the mud/snow gets down behind the liners a bit.

the husky’s definitely have a more premium rubber feel to them, but the new “hp” line from weather tech seems to be addressing the old hard plastic feel that the older ones had.

one issue I see is with the rear weather tech mats, the edge where they come out over the plastic sill plate doesn’t have a ridge to keep the water in and on the mat. Where the mat doesn’t come very far out over this sill plate, I see salt water in the winter running back under this trim piece and onto the carpet. Looks like I’ll keep throwing rags down in the winter to absorb water….

How does the OEM all weather floor liners for the 3rd gens compare to weather tech? Is it worth selling them and changing to the weather tech ones?

I have the HP in my ‘21. I’ve had the original version as well. I prefer the HP’s. Fitment is perfect and I like the Weathertech the best because they have higher walls.

The oem all weather mats came with my tundra, if I didn’t have 5+ months of winter where I live, I’d be 100% happy with the oem all weather mats.

There’s a lot of winter where I live, spend quite a lot of days getting in and out after snowboarding or being on the snow so maybe I’ll use em for a while and decide later.

OEM are more rubbery vs the Weathertech. HP’s have a firmer texture. OEM also don’t have high wall to “catch” debris.

No money, all went to truck...
Oh I thought this was about the horsepower gain you get from installing weathertechs...

Have the HPs in mine. Never had anything from Weather Tech. 460 miles in and I'm plenty happy with them. As previously stated, they fit very well, have good high sides. I did notice they don't cover the entire dead pedal, bit my last few vehicles didn't really one, so I don't really use it.

In all my years of driving I have never put my foot on this dead pedal nor have I felt the urge to. My wife on the other hand….. my tundra always has dirty boot prints on it. But the husky’s cover it entirely
