I've always liked the Weathertech floor mats for their fit and quality. I recently picked them up for my 2010 AC, but turns out if you have a manual transmission the clutch pedal catches the edge of the mat.

I searched but couldn't find much other than a few comments about it, and it seemed that with every person that says it catches somebody else says it doesn't. To clear up any confusion one might have in the future when thinking of ordering these mats, I wanted to create this thread to say the clutch pedal does catch the edge of the mat. Also, its a simple fix! Couple minutes of trimming and it fits perfect.

I installed the floor mat, depressed the clutch pedal until it made contact with the mat, and using a sharpie outlined where it hit.

I then cut that section off.

Voila! I took off a little more on the left side due to the bit of lateral play the pedal has.

Did the same. 30 seconds of effort with a pocket knife and problem solved. They could sell more mats if they would just provide instructions for the slow kids instead of advertising that the mats only fit auto transmission Tacomas.

Floor mats + Toyota + Pedals + potential interference = Legal team going apeshit

Unfortunately very true. But it the interference doesn't cause a hazard. It just causes an annoying little hitch in the rebound of the clutch pedal. Even with clear instructions they would still probably lose sales due to angry internet warriors and spend a fortune answering complaints about the (non)issue.

Maybe they changed things for newer trucks....I don't have any issues with my weathertech mats in my '15 6-speed.

They say you can't use them so if they get sued they can say "told you so" . I cut mine years ago - never had a problem.

Thanks for the info. This is odd though because this picture taken from the Weathertech website clearly shows a manual transmission Tacoma.o_O

That is odd. The placement of the hooks is off as well:

It is for the 12-15 hooks in the pic.

Thank you for this! I was bummed out that they only made them for Autos. Now will order some and do this trim for my MT.
