Has anyone installed the Weathertech Deflectors and had them cause an issue with their automatic windows? That backs go up just fine, but the fronts will get up to the top where they make contact and it seems to cause just enough pressure to send the windows back down. After rolling down and up a few times they went up fine, but they seem to have the issue every now and then now. Any pointers other than get another brand?

How long have you had them in place? Where are you located? (What's the temperature they are sitting in?). I had a similar problem at first with mine when I was installing the fronts - make sure you apply back pressure on them to pull them into the channel. You are also supposed let them sit for at least 2 hours without putting the windows up/down - and I'd leave them closed longer if the average temps are below 50. Mine work fine now.

I've seen issues on numerous vehicles with the in Channel vent visors. Besides deforming the window seal they sometimes put extra stress on the motor and on occasion do enough to activate the down feature. Between this and the visual distortion (the curved part is out of view with external mounts) I only use the external mounts. I believe they have a good return policy, they are a great company.

I wasn’t sure about the in channel visors either when I first installed them but no problems yet.

    -Located in Monrovia CA,
    -in place 5 days
-temps have been in to 60’s-70’s
-did not wait to role up Windows
-did use the tool to make sure the clips were set and deflectors pushed up and out
-it broke a piece of the corner that most likely wasn’t seated when I rolled up the window so not sure on them accepting the return

I figured after a few days with the windows up it would keep them where they should be, but no joy

Wow, sorry to hear that. Mine seated perfectly - just took a few times for the fronts to settle in.

I emailed them to see if the have any tips because I followed the instructions and even watched the video to see if I was that dumb to mess something so simple up but I did it all to a T. I could careless about the cracked off piece since it’s somewhere you can’t see, but the rolling down issue is pretty annoying in the rain.

This is what they sent me back so I’m going to give it a shot and see what happens when I get my truck back tomorrow. Hopefully it works and the post can save someone else some headache.

One of mine did that when I first installed them. I had it stuffed to far into the seal channel. Pulled it out and installed it a little farther out and havent had any issues since.

As in it was pushed up into the rubber to much, and you took it out and lightly put it in?

When I installed the first time, the flat surface that goes into the window seal was all the way into the seal so the curved part of the window deflector was tight to the seal. It twisted the deflector causing contact with the window when it was rolling up. I reinstalled so their was a tiny reveal of the flat part that goes in the seal and everything worked fine.

That is why I have the ones that mount above the windows. I live in Florida and with all the rain I didn't want any issues.

I've used the out of channel before too but I've had enough of them come off or start flapping in the wind a bit when the 3m failed that I tried the in channel on my last two trucks. Other than a 30 second issue during install on my current truck, I've never had any problems with in channels.

    Same here.
I’ve had Weathertech in-channels on 4-5 vehicles and never had an issue.

Same here, no issues. The first few times up and down the window did back down, but once seated it hasn't happened again.

When I installed mine, I cut some cardboard strips that I placed between the window and the deflector to provide better contact between the adhesive tape and the window seal. Let it that way a couple days, and never had an issue.
