So lately I've had water coming into the cab every time it rains. It seems to pool up where the compass/temperature console is, and pours from the plastic gaps in the console and from the headliner up by the windshield.

I noticed wet spots on both the driver and passenger side vertical pillars, right where the plastic meets the headliner. Since I have the OEM roof rack/bars, and after some reading on here, I removed the rack and resealed the holes with RTV sealant. I've done this twice now on both sides with no luck.

Does anyone know where else the water may be coming in? The rear of the cab and headliner are dry; no wet spots. It all seems to be up front somewhere. It's also only noticeable when the truck has been sitting; I can drive in the rain and no water seems to be getting in. Window seal maybe?

Truck is an 07 Doublecab Sport. Thanks for the help.

RTV'd the roof racks twice? no luck?

I'm going to suggest a crazy proposal and it might sound as stupid as a screen door on a submarine, but I'd put some focus at the top of the windshield being the culprit.

That's what I'm looking at next. Maybe some soapy water on the outside and having the cabin air on max will show some bubbles. Are the seals for the windshield known to go bad, or is it more of a rare occurrence?

I installed the racks after I bought the truck, and had no water issues for about a year. This all started a few weeks ago out of the blue.

Don't bother with the soap, there is very little positive pressure. The truck is not that tight to blow bubbles at the top windshield seam... you'll see bubbles forming at the mirror sail attachment, but nowhere else.

Experiment with a garden hose (on low, no nozzle) at the seams and move the hose at 10 minute intervals checking between movements.

Ok, thought that might be the case. I'll take a look tomorrow and see what happens.

Pop the molding off the windshield and reseal. On my 2009 I had to reseal the rear window on one side.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. I may bite the bullet and take out the headliner to get a better visual on where the water is coming in at, and possibly apply sealant. Does anyone know if the holes for the rack that come through the roof are easily accessible once the headliner is off, just so I can rule that out? I know there's some white plastic brackets or something up in that area that might be in the way...

    Thanks.

If you have a moonroof/ sunroof on your Tacoma it could be from the drain hoses being clogged, this is a really common thing for vehicles with them.

A trick I've used over the years to find air/ water leaks is take a smoke machine place it inside the vehicle with all the doors and windows closed completely and watch for where the smoke comes from. This works a lot better and safer then using a hose to find the leak.

None yet, need to finish the HEEP first
I had the same problem after a crappy windshield install. It was a pita to get the company to own up to the bad install but once it was redone the problem was fixed.

Loosened up the headliner enough to take a look under it while I had someone hose down the top of the truck and along the edges of the windshield. Sure enough, there's a pretty good leak along the sealant/caulk that holds the windshield in place on the top toward the passenger side. Sealed it temporarily due to approaching rain but I'll probably have the windshield replaced here pretty soon.

    Thanks again for the replies.

I had the same problem with mine. Turned out it was the windshield seal.
