Has anyone experienced leaking from the grab handles? It has happened twice on the passenger side and both times during heavy rain. I had the windshield replaced and wondering if there's a bad seal somewhere on the top right side of the windshield. Would like to get it fixed and not sure if it's a truck defect or poor windshield install. Thanks!!TacomaLeak.jpg TacomaLeak2.jpg

My guess is a windshield seal or a previously tapped roof rack hole not plugged.

Thanks ponts. I didn't think about the roof rack hole. Will check it out.

Since I don't have one I didn't think of that but yes definitely check if you have a sunroof. Is your headliner wet or have water stains?

Mine was the windshield. Happened to me as well. Reach out to the company that installed it, they probably have a warranty for that. At least Safelite did for mine.

Awesome, thanks guys! Yes, I do have a sunroof. Haven't noticed any other leaks or water marks, but will check around. Funny enough I have to get the windshield replaced again. If the issue persists after replacing the windshield I'll update this thread and move on to the other possibilities. Thanks again!

Same, as I was trying to find another leak on the passenger side I was running the water hose on that area and saw a leak from the grab handle. Wild.

I had this same issue after installing my aftermarket roof rack. It didn't occur to me that those holes don't come sealed! I just siliconed everything! haven't had an issue since.

Your sunroof should have drain hoses in the corners of the sunroof track, they sometimes get clogged just a little and during a heavy rain will overflow and leaks down the A pillars. I would recommend opening your sunroof all the way, using an air compressor nozzle blow a small burst down each tube, after words take a soda bottle(12 oz size is good) of water and pour it into each corner to test how quickly it drains. I've done this many times at my Ford dealer and have never had a hose blow off the sunroof track.

I think it was a clogged drain. Even though I ran a brush down it, it came back once. Right after it rained I went to check it and noticed a puddle on the passenger side. I haven’t noticed it again, but it hasn’t been raining much either. The second time I saw it though I cleaned the plastic on the sun roof and all the gutter for the sun roof. Making sure to get any gunk I saw out and ran the cleaning brush, I ordered off Amazon, again but from both ends this time.
